Hey butts, you need to join Rennlist, and the 928 owners club, both are cheap, and the money is well spent.

OMFG! */facepalm-hang-head-in-shame/* I thought I joined all this time. I just forked out the 32 buckaroos to the collective. So yeah, I'm a member now. JFC, I'm such a freaking n00b...

Just the fact that they group 84-85 and have 86 separate shows that table is bogus. Anyone who knows 928's knows that US '85 was the first year of 32v and is significantly different from the 16v '84 and older.

Most of the other Porsche model owners look at us like we're the redheaded stepchild of Porsche.
Some of those Air cooled guys should drive one of these. If they haven't they will be pleasantly surprised...I was. I had a 97 993 and a 2001 996. This car is more fun to drive than either of those two

+ 1

I had a 97 993 Cab (great car for 1/2 - 1 hour around town)

Most of them never had or will take the opportunity

I own both a 79 911 air cooled Euro coupe and an 87 928 S4. There is no question, they are different cars. Both fun to drive but I find comparing them is like apples and oranges.

These tables ran through 2009, any idea when new tables will be published?

I learned a few things in that article:
The belt tensioner was also changed for 1983 to a system that used hydraulic damping

For the 1986 model year, the 928 was largely unchanged, though bigger brakes with Brembo four-piston calipers were added to 1986 928s from serial number 1000 on. Also, the 1986 928 had anti-lock brakes as standard equipment worldwide. The radio antenna was in the windshield.
Lots of random facts thrown in there, often in strange places and sometimes misleading (like mentioning the dual exhaust with the GTs like it was introduced there).

Prices are pretty random too.

Andy,
They do it yearly and basically use the same info... however the prices are not heading in the right direction. I do believe it will turn and do not hold much weight on their numbers.

Here is link for 2010....

How did they get sales data on '92? Unless it is from europe? Aren't they a US magazine?

Me too. I tell folks that if one didn't know better, they wouldn't know they were both from the same manufacturer.

The attitude is regional. People around here have plenty of respect for the 928.

Agreed. I too own a 95 993 and I sold my other 993 to buy the 928. Very different cars, when it comes to the driving dynamic, but I love them both.

You know, I never thought that any discrimination would happen towards 928 owners till I started reading this board and see all these comments/ complaining.
Honestly, been involved with PCA for 2 decades, past exec within my region and i have not met one person that would scoff at a site of a 928.

Hate to say it, but I tend to think that all this fuss is a bit exaggerated.

I think some of this "perceived or not" 911 > 928 was or is from when we were all much younger and had a lot more hair. Now that we are older and hopefully wiser, we all realized that some like brunettes, some like blondes, some like BBW and some like'em waffer thin.
Besides, ever since that Cayenne thing came out, it took over the mantle from us 928'er for being THE dentist's-wife's-car. Now we can all giv'em **** for blocking our view of the road.
