Sharks at Daytona 2011 Oktoberfast
928 GET TOGETHER
WHAT: Sharks at Daytona OktoberFast
WHEN: October 7-9th(Fri-Sun)
WHERE: Daytona International Speedway-Daytona Beach, Florida
WHY: Coinciding with the annual PCA races held at Daytona.
Additional Info: Sponsored by Brumos Porsche. Link to the OktoberFast website: http://www.pcafcr.org/events_detail.asp?event_id=221
Oktoberfast is back in 2011 after it was cancelled in 2010 while the track was resurfaced. Non PCA members and non 928OC members are welcome although PCA membership is required if you want to participate in the autocross. Drivers Ed is fully booked but the PCA sprint and enduro races will be fun to watch. This has always been a great event and we hope to see all the old faces and some new ones. Mel will be there to welcome you, mostly at the aotocross I believe.
See you there!

Re: Autocross at OktoberFast
Ok, I've spoken with the person handling the Autocross for the PCA and he advised that you do not have to be a PCA member to participate in the Autocross.
Here is the link to the information page about the event, with additional links to the registration page: http://www.clubregistration.net/driv...?event_id=3750
He is revising the registration to allow for non PCA members to register. He advised that when you register there is a spot for "Custom Questions", you put in "928" into that slot to register. He was psyched at the thought of having a bunch of 928s participating, so here is everyone's chance to put on a good show for us 928ers at a PCA event & have lots of fun too. He also advised that there will be the opportunity to run all day or just half day if you like. I noticed they will also have another autocross the following day in conjunction with another car club that you can be in as well.
So get the word out. If you have been wanting to autocross, here's your chance. The weather is usually fantastic the 1st weekend in Oct., & you can't beat being at Daytona! Hope to see some of you there!

Hey, sorry I stole your pic Mel, but it says it all.
Porsche 928, Daytona and the American Flag! That's what I call comprehensive.
Hey, it the a corral or someplace everyone is gathering at the races?

Mel I also stole your pic!
Joe, lets meet at same spot as last year. We are getting a banner so Mel needs to tell us where to put it
I believe the blue cross is the spot to meet on this map.

The infield is pretty much wide open to choose your spot wherever you'd like. Just make sure you enter through the tunnel at Turn 1 off Williamson Blvd(red Arrow) cause the tunnel off International Speedway Blvd. is much more steep & not as kind to low sitting cars.
