Laguna Seca Race This weekend Oct 1-2 2011--VIDEO UP
This is the last Laguna seca race of the year with SCCA.
Stll running the car in the american V8 supercar series, where their first year as a separate run group has been sucessful . we will see if next year, we can get the car count up with all the nasa folks coming over , as well as a few 928s from here!
anyway, race starts at near 10:30am Sunday and 2pm on sunday as well, with qual and practice on Saturday. (two day race weekend only)
if anyone is around the monterey area, stop by and say hello! I think Petty will be out there with his son to watch and hang out at the track.

The race went well. as always, the 928 ran like a champ. was fast for 2 races (one hour of racing with an hour break. thats almost 3 full seasons on the new stroker.
1:36.5 was my fastest time of the weekend in the first race, after switching out some corded front tires while qualifying at 1:37.xx.
Got some pretty good video, rear cam and front cam. Ill post it up if anyone wants to see it.

Rear cam. Notice NO smoke, near redline shifts and its still running like a champ! driven to the track both ways, no problems as I did for 8 years with original holbert engine.

Wow great driving and great videos mark. The drop through the corkscrew must be a thrillride!
I've only been there once about 8 years back for an Indy car race but never driven on the track.
Thanks for sharing through the view of a 928 cockpit

Its amazing how far of a drop you really take down the corkscrew. never really understood the forces until I started looking at pics of the car at the apex of the exit of the corkscrew. the car is litterally crushing the suspension and the splitter is slightly dragging on the pavement!
