It's really not that hard to remove the passenger timing belt cover without removing anything else except the distributor cap. The coolant hoses are flexible and even the big one to the radiator can be temporarily moved up and out of the way without being disconnected to make room to remove the cover.

928s before 1990 have oil cooler hoses going to the top and bottom of the plastic radiator sidetank on the left side (driver side) and all automatics have trans cooler lines going to the right side sidetank. You can't miss the large 32mm nuts on the backside of the plastic sidetanks.

As other and Dan just said, you shouldn't have to fuss with the fan shroud. It's tight, but the cover will maneuver through the hoses.
