Are 3 ton jack stands good enough?
Hi guys,
Planning to raise the car up to change coolant/oil later on today... Last year I bought 3 ton jacks, but looking at them now, I wonder if they will give me enough clearance to get under the car to remove back and front trays. Should I swing by local Harbor Tools and grab 6 ton jacks? I'm looking at Dwayne's write up and it looks like he's using 6 ton jacks, but at their lowest position - I think I can extend my 3 ton jacks higher then that...
Thanks!

I have 3 sets of "6 ton" stands.
I like them for height and stability.
If you have a choice, buy the ones with the little lock bars chained to the stand.

Alexei, I haven't lived where I was raised since 1986. 19th and 'Z' by St Marks. Got into the 928 in SoCal.
I would use 6 ton. Gotta get the Porkens. Makes getting the car up high an ease. While on my creeper I can role over with lots of room to spare.

They will.
The six-ton stands add some margin of safety when you start pulling and pushing hard on things with the car up higher.
