Default My 928 For Sale...is my price ok?

Guys,
Quick survey - I'm asking $5500 for my 84 928 S - auto 129k miles.

https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...-tan-129k.html

Am I asking too much? Too little? Poll included.

Thanks,
Vince

Looks like a very nice car and the price is on the low side, in my opinion.

I think it could be higher, if you were willing to wait for the right buyer. Interior is special.

I think you're spot on personally. I sold my 84 this summer and I started there and ended up getting 5k, which was 200 more than I paid for it. So I was happy. 5k seems the real sweet spot for them.

IMHO, price is too low, but you obviously have to weigh in time for sale amidst a very small group of buyers.

wait for right buyer that recognizes/appreciates the value as a fair deal = $6500
need to sell in the next month or two = priced appropriately

Very nice car and color combo. Good luck!!

It's a 27 year old car.

Get what you can but don't expect much.

That interior is what reduces the value significantly. What's up with that thing sticking outta the glove box?

The price point is really based on your motivations and the buyers motivations. If you want to sell it faster, start lowering the price or market it better. If you want a higher sell price, then market it better and be prepared to wait.

In general, however, it looks shiny which is a huge plus. The interior is rough-ish, but maybe with some seat covers it would/could look better.

Randy's just sore because you have a palm reflecting in your hoodpaint..

Concur with previous post...time=money.

Looks like an uncommonly nice car in many respects...but you have to be willing to wait for the uncommon buyer if you want a premium for that.

I think you're on the low side, but then again no AC in SoCal and the seat hurts.

If a friend asked me to help them find a nice 928 loosely matching your car (black 84 AT around $5k) I would only be suggesting they look at it with a price closer to $3k in mind, and I would be steering them away to find one with everything working instead.

Summer is over, now is the dead low price point of the year until people see tax refund money 6 months from now.

Did you get any serious attention from the ads, any serious offers?

Considering I bought mine for 3k last October and 200 dollars later + misc. parts from a parts car and 100 hours of my time and a friends time, it is now worth 2,900 but might fetch more next year when I sell her to trade up to a ??? not sure what yet (another 928?).

PS: I like your car.......

-- I've gotten a bunch of calls from folks via craigslist and autotrader - someone drove it this weekend, I'm sure it will sell soon. If not, I'll just drop the price until it sells.
