Default how to store an engine

I will be getting the gts engine back from greg ...intake,heads,block and I want to do the right thing for storeage while at the same time maybe putting on a glass top on it for table in the shop... what should I do to the parts...wipe them down and loosely assemble . what about coolant passages etc..anyone have a recommendation?

sure it was a running engine when removed with like 98k miles on it. I hope to eventually send it to greg and have it freshened and updated as a replacement some day...Just thought I would display it as a table in the garage but want to do no harm.

any thoughts?

a little oil on the cylinder walls, but otherwise just drain it, clean it and leave it, it's aluminum

Clean, lube and get some of these dehydrator plugs from Aircraft Spruce in the right size.

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...ehydrplugs.php

Also get a few medium sized dehydrator bags for the intake and exhaust, just do what you can to prevent rust and corrosion.

I would store it on a stand in a engine bag.

I would oil the cylinders a little bit....then you would need some type of "table worthy" way of plugging the intake..which shouldn't be hard since you can see it...

Honestly.....I'd ask Doc what to do....he knows better than anyone....since he has that uber-rare 944 race car living in a bubble in his shop....

I do not know what you mean by that?
If you mean with oil, I guess you could.

I would also rotate the crank ever other month or so.,.
