Thanks for your concern but it should not be an issue for DFW. Possum Kingdom is in the foot hills of Palo Pinto which is 90 miles west of Ft. Worth.

We can see the smoke but gladly a long way away as Andy stated.

Seems to be on the outskirts of Travis County, like Steiner Ranch and Pedernales Bend. Union Chapel over in Bastrop too. Wife says you can smell the smoke in Austin tho.

I have a son who works at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines resort, just a few miles outside of Bastrop. They can see the fire from there and some employees lost their homes. It is VERY BAD...

I have a word out to Mark to see if he's alright. Nothing back yet..
Large fires west of Dripping Springs, off Hamilton Pool Road. Smoke haze to the west, you can smell it in the air. Driving Eastbound into work this morning and smoke haze over downtown austin as well. (Leander fires?) Lots to worry about around here today.

I've sent messages to a few down there. Robinson is the only one who's not sent a message back.

And there is now a "smaller" fire in the Magnolia area, my area, 8000 people evacuated yesterday evening/last night...50 houses reported burnt overnight...that is within about 15 miles of our front door. Smoke is in the air, no rain in the forcast.....but the only good news is the temps dropped to 51 degrees last night....following 57 days of over 100 degree days, that is good news....also, the winds are forcast to be much lower today, which is better news for firefighters.... yesterday there were gusts of 37mph reported which sort of makes firefighting nearly impossible...

And Bastrop is in far worse conditions........let us all hope and pray that today gives them relief....
