Stay safe Jim - what about Mike Rose?

Roger, Mike is about 20 miles north east of here...I am not aware of any problems up his way ...right now at least....I think Don Carter is ok too where he is, right now. With the winds dying down, I just got back from a couple of mile walk, and it is dead calm here now, so that will help the firefighting considerably as well as not move the fire nearly so fast....

Just heard from Mark Robinson, his house was OK after they were let back in to Steiner Ranch today. He and Shelly are fine.
I'm not a member of the other forum, if someone wants to pass along the info over there it would be appreciated.

Drove I 10 from Houston to San Antonio about 4am this morning. Just past Columbus the sky was glowing red/yellow/orange, and the smell of burning was very strong

Yes, quite dramatic events here ... the big problem is the Bastrop area (about 30 mins east) where the fire is still not controlled. Some estimates say half of the state park there is burned, along with hundreds of homes. Several other areas all around Austin have been affected, mostly in the suburbs. I believe there was a big fire in Spicewood near Lake Travis, where Tim Smith lives.

About an hour ago, what was characterized as a "small brush fire" broke out near my wife's office. So it's kinda crazy today here in Austin.

Tim and Rose are ok, at least as of this morning.
