You can weld with egos, at least it was getting that way.

If that was directed at me, then I guess I need to go back to my day job.
There are lots of pictures of cars I have done posted here, but not posted by myself.

*Psst*, I'll help you out - in the first picture you posted, almost half of the car was missing. That's okay though, it's an easy mistake to make.

Don't feel bad though, the other guy forgot to install the headlights. Heck, I don't even think that was a 928!

You do know I am a pro wrench and have been so for over 40 years, in the last 2 years over 80% of the cars I have worked on have been Porsche's and most of those 928's.

This is a full picture of my personal car, I paid 400 bucks for it when I bought it.

I just checked, we have 5 Porsche's in my shop right now, four of them are 928's, so I may have a clue about them.

What exactly do you do?

Mostly work with computers, but in my spare time I amuse myself at the expense of others, especially when it's obvious they have no sense of humor and care an awful lot about what random people think of them on the Internet.

I understand, sometimes I have to check my garage to see what cars are there today. Things breed like rabbits, people take them, people leave them. It's hard to know for sure.

You have no idea how true that is for me.
I could care less what Jerry or you think, but I do care that some unsuspecting person may actually believe that is the right way to do that repair the OP is talking about.

I don't think anything other than that it's silly to get butthurt over what anyone says about anything on the Internet. You both do good work, and you have two different ways of doing it. There's a certain artistry to metal working so that if you can get good consistent results doing it differently that's fine. In your professional space you're going to have differences of opinion.
I'm not going to presume to speak for most people, but good helpful advice is great. A little common respect would go a long way. And if you two girls want to have a pillowfight, there's probably a better place for it than this poor guy's thread. :P

Greg, as a newish member would just like to reassure you, when you post on the forum your advice is listened to. As a medium time lurker there are a few posters who consistently make sense, and in particular cases have helped me when all other local sources have been exhausted. You are one of them. There are many many more ( Malcolm and Stan are two that spring to mind as they responded to specific problems that defied logic to me and local 'pros but were solved when they they shared their experience).
I would hope it is obvious to the majority of forum members what the best solution is to the OP. It doesnt need the level of detail that has ensued. Posts from 'computer workers' really do not responding to. Keep your energy for helping people who have 928's to fix rather than people on 'computers' with time on their hands.

And so your contribution and show of respect is to name call one of the most valuable members of this community? Thank for your consideration of the OP.

Thank you.
I have received many PM's about Jerry, pretty much all of them have said the same thing.

The op should listen to one of the best welders in this country, and that is Joe Norman, he is not only a pro welder, but actually teaches his skills to others, he IS the person to listen to on this.

You guys carry on.

So you saw what I did there? Good on ya. I'm glad the irony wasn't totally lost.
