Default Porsche 928 in Media

Hopefully you'll find this a fun (and educational) topic...

Where in TV, movies, books or magazines have you seen the 928? Clearly, Risky Business comes to mind (then quickly Rebecca DeMornay soon after), but what other creative work have you seen the car in?

Second question: Are there any good historical/photographic books about the 928? It takes two seconds on this site to search for DIY manuals here, but for those who are without a 928 to DIY (or without a friend that has one), some fun reading/watching will have to do!

The opening credit of an old Matlock episode has a 928 being chased by police. Not sue if it has been mentioned before.

The one I hear mentioned more often than Risky Business is Scarface, unfortunately, maybe because I have the silver one to match. And Projekt 928 is the most famous book, but it's rare. You might be able to find a download link for it here somewhere.

The Projekt 928 book is a great call. I'm fairly fluent in German, but not technical German, so I was able to find the English Project 928 and downloaded the PDF to my iPad. Now I have great photos and history to read wherever I am.

LOVE that movie site! Even has the Matlock one mentioned, as well as the Murder She Wrote episode. Great for the early supper set.

I remember as a kid watching a made for TV movie (may have been a potential series pilot) where the protagonist had an early 80s black s. For some reason I think it was some kind of a re-do of "The Seal," but I'm not certain. I recall a kid admiring the car and saying something like "it must go 140" and the guy replies "actually, 150," or something to that effect.

Also recall seeing part of a movie (so have no idea what it was about or what it was called) with Stanley Tucci (sp?) where his character had a 928 in the garage of his posh home.

Keep it out of the media.

All we get is idiots cutting and reversing bodies on them.
Running trucks and motorcycles over them.
Rednecks without metric toolkits shoehorning small blocks into them.

Be thankful they are under the radar.

The little stuff has all been covered before. There are several threads with lists of obscure 928 sightings in movies and tv. References to Tom Selleck and Charlie Sheen's fascination with the car, etc. Heather Thomas had one and one was on Fall Guy way back. Dabblers at the end of the day.

For core cool information, though, hunt down the thread about #6 (that is building past the brian long book) and the new one about #1, or Blue Max or Blue 82 or Kermit.

Blue 82 thread (though pictures are expired) is one of my favorites. What a find!

But "#6" has the story. 12, not 11, preproduction press cars. We know the location of 4 of them, including the first.

How can we forget Leonard Part 6?

I actually saw an ad for one of those repo or tow truck shows recently. They were pulling a 928 onto a rollback.

Yay - your second thread is an enzo - well done!

Look thru the New Visitor FAQ topic to find the definition of enzo.

Yep, you got me! When I saw that link of a comprehensive list of movies with 928's, smacked my head not believing that I missed that thread in my search. Apologies for the unintentional repost, but the feedback was great!

Now pardon me while I post question to see if any owners have experienced electrical problems with their 928. I'm sure no one has asked that before.
