Hey guys,

Anyone know what these aftermarket Carrera 5 spokes from WAC weigh?

Anyone own a set? If so, how have they been holding up?

I was hoping to buy a factory set of the Carrera Lightweights 5 spokes (or Carrera III's as a second choice) one of these days, but at $569 and free shipping, this is tempting.

My S4 is not going to be set up for the track, so this is strictly a cosmetic thing for me, although an added bonus of the factory wheel set is that they are so light.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Should add, I submitted this question to them via their "feedback" form. I'll report back if I learn anything from them regarding the weights.

I would guess that they weigh about 28 pounds,
since your not going racing what does it matter what they weigh?
you wont notice the difference if they weigh 50 LBs except when fitting them to the hub.
If you want light weight wheels then buy lightweight wheels.
Replicas are just that replicas.
Then the next question will be what is the weight of the tire that you plan on fitting,
once again if your not going racing it wont really matter,
you will however be looking for good dry grip and also wet WX performance and tire life, and ride quality.
Search CL for the wheels you want they do pop up from time to time usually with a set of tires already installed

Replicas are all heavy as hell, 28 lbs is probably correct. Then add in some extra weight to balance them because they are not round.

Just buy a set of original real ones on eBay.

Mike, are you saying the replicas wheels are out of round? As in not true?

Or, that they are not well balanced when produced, and therefore will take extra weight to balance them?

If you mount a replica wheel without a tire, spin it and watch. I've seen them be quite visably wobbly which would require alot of balance weight. Maybe someone who's actually gone as far as mounting tires can tell if they had to use alot of weight.
Even balanced you could have the matter of your tire wobbling and whatever ride or wear funk that brings.
It's also possible that your replica wheels could be reasonably round, who knows. Their main function is to be cheap and sell.
