Default Need TBF damaged engine pics

We have our website up and are trying to populate it with useful information to include the thrust bearing failure (TBF) problems with 928 automatics.

We are looking for some internal engine pictures showing the carnage caused by TBF. Pictures of cracked blocks, heat damaged cranks and such would be great.

Thank you,

Here Is a link to the Thread at 928oc were I documented my repair.

I caught mine just before it damaged the block (Thank God)
Some pics of how close the crank got to the block and some of the brass on the worn out bearings

Any "Engine/car" pictures you want to use, you may take for your site

Hi Joe,

Thank you very much!

As with most such endeavors, wanted it to be more but had to settle for what we had already done to go ahead and get it published.

Now adding more content and will continue to expand it.

I remember our telephone discussion about this topic. Thanks again for the encouragement!

Kind regards,

Brad: I just looked at you thread on the OC. Did the car have symptoms of TBF? What was the endplay measurement? That bearing looks barely worn into the copper to me and still pretty thick. Rich Andrade has pics of a TBF that is much more nasty. Here's a link of Rich's info reposted by Theo J.

Here's a good Rennlist thread on the subject, although don't let the confusion over the endplay spec throw you.:

Hi Bill,

Yes, saw those two sites.

We are looking for fresh pictures of TBF damage that someone might have to include on our website.

Thank you!
