Haven't made contact. Just noticed it today. Car MUST have salvage title, but the car is sitting up front on display with the appearance of "ready to go".

It could be a basket case, or it could be a steal. I would bet that aftermarket tach has scared off a lot of potential buyers which could explain the low price. The interior looks clean. It's hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like there's a dent in the driver's side quarter panel. If I was close and had $4K to spend on a S4, I'd certainly give it a look.

I can run up and take a look at this if someone is interested. Heck, maybe it would work out for me. I need another test platform for projects and the price is right.
Thanks

pull the dipstick and drip the oil onto a black piece of cardboard look for metallic in the oil if you see it then the flex plate check needs to be done to verify that the thrust bearing is going bad

Carfax?
History of ownership. I know a car flipper from the Mazda forums I used to get on that would purchase flooded cars and clean them up, but then the computers and wiring would all be damaged and would have intermittent problems.
That center console looks wrong (especially the pic that shows the Right(passenger) side), and the Tach (Aftermarket) is showing 1k rpms but the factory TACH is dead. I would suspect computer/electrical problems and wonder what other bandage/ductape/chewing gum fixes are spread out over that car.
Still, for the right (resourceful experienced hands) this car would be pretty tempting. All the glass and most of the body is straight, and the interior looks pretty nice.
Dooo EEET!

The side covers on the console probably aren't screwed in properly. The tach is showing a little less than 1000 RPM. If the thrust bearing checked out, and it was only lacking in regular maintenance, I'd buy it.
