Chill, Jerry, Chill. Really - I've had 9 928s. I know what I'm doing, really. I was just sharing with the group and asking around for ideas. This is a daily driver, and my neck was starting to hurt again like last time I had a Sunroof car because of the way I have to drive it. Don't worry - I'll figure it out.

I'm pretty sure that he is doing this because he doesn't fit into the vehicle without the seat being reclined, well into the rear seat area.
The driving position was not... optimum... with "newer" seats.

I think the stock in Duct Tape is going to go up because that is going to be the saving grace for this OP in respect to keeping something in place to cover the opening he has left until he figures out what to do to properly correct it.

Train wreck.

Really Dude? Wow. I live in San Diego. It won't rain until October. I'm good, really.

Thanks Mike. For the most part, the edges are 90 degree lips facing into the cabin. At the back, of course, there is no edge. So probably the best option is to make it a bit bigger than the hole.

I wouldn't exactly call it a train wreck. Brendan cut that sunroof out a few years ago after buying the car from me. I'm sure in the years since then he has had plenty of time to figure things out in his head. And yes he is a big guy. It will most definitely be a challenge though. If it were me, I'd weld in a solid roof .....

I considered it quite a bit.

Your opinion is incorrect, quite strong, and off base.

I raise you your in-credulousness with a "WTF?" Why would I worry about paint?

Brendan, one option would be a 944 sunroof implant. I think you can pretty easily do that and they RULE as far as sunroofs go -- a nice big removable panel that turns your 928 into a targa?? I'd love that.

Hey H. Different 86. This one is a South Carolina Car. The 86 will probably be turbo platform. I still keep it in storage. I cut the sunroof out of that one years ago, as you mention, and it was great practice.

I HAVE had nearly 10 years of figuring it out in my head as it bounces off the damn freaking roof!

My plan has always been to swap in the whole roof from a sunroofless early car.

Welding I would straighten the bent down or rolled edges and put in the panel portion of the old sunroof.

I have taken about 15 pounds out of the roof at least with all the metal removal of the sunroof cassete and bracketry.
