Got a customer with a 370, and nissan has still not figured out how to put brakes on a car, one half assed stop is about all you are going to get on that car before they fade.
Scary on a car that fast.
Pretty sure Road and Track or one of the others stuffed one in a wall at a track due to no breaks

IIRC, that was the last new Sports Car I bought, it's been all 928s since then (not counting SUVs/Trucks/Jeeps).

Nissan Dealer had to replace the brake rotors EVERY oil change...I think I was one of the people that caused the "TSB extended warranty" on the brake rotors that happened later in 91, you may remember getting the letter from Nissan extending the brake warranty to 60K?? miles.

Wouldn't want it back....BUT, I still have the Titanium Key in my ex-car key collection.

I could see that Greg seeing as you had an NA. My first 300ZX was an NA. Twin Turbo on those cars is the ONLY way to go! Easy mods at very reasonable prices to get real results in HP& TQ increases and at reasonable costs.

I dealt with the Atlanta Nissan dealer for months about this.

When they said I wasn't using my brakes properly...I finally got the Nissan rep to go for a ride with me....

First the dealer put on new Rotors...

Took a drive up I-85 at 70mph for 15-20 minutes...did ONE panic stop down to 55mph simulating a Radar hit on "Radar Detector".

Drove carefully back to dealer...

Laughed out loud at the look on ALL their faces when they measured the rotor warpage.

Accepted apology from Service manager about my "driving style".

Few months later Letters were sent to all 300Z owners extending the warranty on the brakes....couldn't stop laughing when I got mine in the mail!!

I didn't sell it ...lost it in a divorce.Didn't mind losing the wife ,but losing the car broke my heart! It was a 1971 911T. The car I should have held onto was a 1971 Camaro SS . It would have made great resto-rod . Also a MG Midget and a MGA.

For me, the one that got away was a pristine gun metal silver '62 Jag 3.8 liter MKII that I had when I was 19!

I had a '61 Austin Healey 3000 at age 18 that I got my first piece from my soon to be first wife. Two years later I got a '65 Healey 3000 and she became very suspicious. I then bought a '64 Jaguar XKE roadster and got seperated, whereupon I met the lady who 35 years later became my second wife. I wish I had all three automobiles today, if only for what they would be worth, so that I could buy an Aston Martin Rapide. However, the truth be told, none of them are/were as comfortable or reliable as my '91 S4......uh......I'm talking about the cars, of course.

72 240 Z- Just got it back from a family friend after 12 years of neglect in his garage. Gave him a great car, I get back a good car with rusted floors. Gee, I already replaced those floors once.

Oh well, glad it didnt get far, I probably will never sell that car again.

When I was 7 my dad bought a Porsche 928. Kept it until I was 16. A which point he thought it was going to be too much car...yada yada yada, and I ended up with this! Bought it myself at 16. (picture as takin in 1987)

Wish I still had it! Sold to pay for college!

1. 1968 Mustang coupe, 289 V8, all stock numbers matching in beautiful Gulfstream Aqua.
2. 1967 Camaro, high horsepower 327 V8 numbers matching car in Ermine White with red interior.

Sadly, I sold both of these cars in the pre Barrett-Jackson years for 4 digit dollar values...

The one that got away for me also was a 62 Healey 3000 MKII triple carb, side shifter, 4-seater, Healey Blue. It was actually my father's, but I drove it quite a bit in my teen years, and did quite a bit of work on it. I took it to the senior prom. He paid $1500 for it in 1979, we re-did the interior and paint, and he ended up selling it in 1983 for about $4500. We tracked it down about 5 years ago 20 miles from where we lived in Upstate NY, and went to visit it. It was still sporting the 1983 NY inspection sticker on the windsheild, and had been partially disassembled for restoration right after we sold it, and then the owner died. The current owner bought it from the estate, and has done nothing else with it. The current owner had a few other nice big Healeys, and he was hoping to get around to restoring this one eventually. I wish I had been in a position to buy it back as is and get it back together. Hmm, maybe I should re-visit that idea! Lots of great memories from the days with that car - like taking the fuel pump apart on the side of the road to clean stuck contact points....

Default '67 Austin Healey 3000

Sold it in 1996 when I bought the 928. Probably worth twice as much as when I sold it back then, Full restoration on original car. I had owned it for 20 years.

72 Rally Nova, 307ci on Firestone 721 tires.
Fast. Handled. Reliable.
Just enough headroom to be able to ...
Really miss it.

DandeMan, BRB and Voskian. As you know, the big Healey 3G's were a hell of a party to drive. I got my '61 in 1965 and my '65 in 1967. Back in the day, next to the XKE, they were THE sports car to own, with the Jag being the "ultimate crumpet catcher". I also remember the friggin' fuel pump issues, trying to keep the 3-SU carbs in sync, ripping rear mufflers off in driveways, stretch & snap-on top, side curtains bowing out at 100mph, the wierd gearshift ****, crashbox non-synchro first and most of all.......LUCAS Electrics-"the Prince of Darkness"!

Default The one I let go of

I'm sad to this day that I let my 1963 Corvette convert go. It was Silver Blue with a solid lifter cam 340 HP 327 small block, 4 Speed, positraction. I had reproduction Knock offs on it. The car as a blast to drive and a one car parade. But I moved from Florida to the Boston area and with the difference in housing prices I needed a cash infusion to get a house. I would have slept in the car but my wife, not so much. Trust me a three bedroom Federal Colonial is not near the giggle the Corvette was.
