1962 Chevy Impala, black w/red interior, engine was '63 Chevy 409 C.I./400HP with Borg Warner T-10 four-speed, 4:56 posi differential, heavy duty clutch, and street slicks. Tough on the transmission without Saginaw gears & snapped a few valve springs here and there, but good in a straight line at the time (many, many moons ago). Sold it for $400.

I've got a photo around here somewhere of the 64 1/2 Mustang I should have never sold. Not worth much, it had a crate motor in it and had a terrible Maaco paint job. At some point the driver side fender had been replaced, it didn't have the V8 badge on that side.
My mom sold it while I was away at college. I've asked for the name of the person she sold it to and she can't remember. Love to track that thing down again. When I sold it, it had absolutely no rust except for a bit on the wheel wells.

A friend of mine has just purchased one and is restoring it, hell of lot of work needed.

Just updating my previous post with some pics seeing that a few of us have owned E-Types.
Miss it, yes, i felt part of that car when just sat in it.
The b&w photo is from 1980.
The rust photo is O/S/R wheel well looking forwards, not pretty, I bought some repair panels and patched it up around 1983
It was fully restored around 2002.

My 928 was close to being on here if I would of bought the 997 Turbo that I always wanted.It may happen yet.
Always liked the 930,996,997 TT cars.Alot of nice cars being shown here,liked the 300ZX TT also almost bought one back then instead of the 928.Hopefully my 928 ends up going to someone here instead of a dealers lot.

Before: 1967 GTO, Ultramarine blue over parchment, Tri-power http://ultimategto.com/1967/67_00290_4.jpg, Muncie close ratio 4-spd with hurst shifter, Crane cammed, rhodes lifters (this was a couple decades ago...) ported heads, muncie, retrofitted factory 67 am/fm and reverb, front disc brakes, Rally I wheels (!), etc. Oh, and then there was the H-O Racing front swaybar that was almost as thick as my wrist (and solid) to keep the sled from leaning so much..first car acquired at 14, had it for about 12years, It's on the show circuit now. Maybe, like Rick, I'll find it and buy it back one day....
Hm, tri-power GTO and CIS 928....not so different in the frustration factor...
After: Audi A6 4.2L tipshift, and 2004 GTO 5.7L. Neither optimal, but both pretty close and good bang for the buck.

I had some cars that were 'interesting' in HS.
Then when I graduated and got a 'real job' I got a yellow 280z. That car was lots of fun and I did a complete tear down and rebuild of the engine (my first). That car (like all 280z cars) was a rust bucket the day I got it but man, was it fun to drive! And it was easy to work on too.
I'd own another one in a heartbeat if I could find one that wasn't so rusted out it would flex when you sat in it.
I sold it to a friend of mine to get a car with more seats (was married and had a kid at that point). I was following him home from somewhere when he blew the engine in it. Turns out he got tired of putting oil in it and ran it dry.

2 Cars my dad had-1 crashed-other driven into ground by my brother...
1969 Chevy Nova ex-Police car with 305 replaced with 350-car weighed nothing-drunk driver hit it while parked outside the repair shop.
1971 Olds Cutlass Supreme 350 2 bbl with no AC and no options-again weighed nothing-brother ruined it...

Mine was a '68 Firebird where someone with a wrecked SS Camaro couldn't resist... Loved that car... Jiminy it went like stink in a straight line... Scary to stop or turn. Next car was gonna' handle and here we are. Ahhhh...
