Critical parts NLA list? OB
Just wondering what are the critical wear items that are NLA for my 79 OB? I believe timing gears were NLA but now might be available. What other major parts are completely NLA?

Whoah! That question is huge, as is the list to which it applies.
I run into that word almost everyday in search on parts for #6. I was thinking it's vanity plate will read "NLA 928".
Of the top of my head:
Euro Fog lamp (left)
Euro Driving lamp (left & right)
Early fuel lines, all over the place

Encouraging.
Any other input?
My thinking is to keep and eye out and buy/stock/store anything critical that I might need in the near and distant future. Just need to know what to look for.

I've seen the NLA list but it's everything from center console pieces to fuel lines and might be out dated by now -- as I believe more than a few NLA parts went away and then got made again.
I was looking more for a short list of critical running gear that car will be a paper weight without and can't be worked around. Let's say stuff like a timing belt or a water pump which are of course available. Maybe there isn't any such parts which would be very good news.

There is substitution capability across the model years that helps.
I've got 5 mid-year cars running, four of which are DD's for the family right now.
Its only a matter of time until something breaks or a corner is knocked-off one of them, so we are opportunistically collecting parts that can be used or traded for what we might need.

Buying more cars is deff one option.....But I'd need a bigger garage.
OT, There was an old house down the street for sale with a barn in back that has seven garages. The guy has several Porsche's under car covers in there. I really would LOVE that kind of set up. The main house was from 1800's so the stairs, doors, ceiling are all much much too low and narrow and - well - old (Charming is how the agent would phrase it, lol). Guess people were tiny back then. But MAN I would love that barn in my backyard. Then i wouldn't have had to sell the 2nd 1980 928 that I bought in March.
