Post 928 NLA Parts List

Thanks to Jim and Mark at 928 International and James Erdmann for the last update on No Longer Available (NLA) 928 parts. Since this list was last published I suspect there must be other parts that are NLA? If you know of any, please list them. Or if you have questions/suggestions for substitute parts. Or, parts that we may want to stockpile just in case they might become NLA soon. As our cars get older, this list will get longer.

Speed nut for heat shield, 78-95. NLA? I don't think so. What about superseding Porsche part numbers?

I have never ordered parts directly from a Porsche dealer and was told they are NLA, so I assume if they are listed in the PET without the "U" code they are still available from Porsche.

Some may be in Germany or have longer lead times, but they are probably available.

I was told the other day that the rain gutter pieces that go from front fender up the A-pillar and along the roof above the door are NLA. And I've also heard that 2 out of 3 used to arrive bent or broken...

In Germany, they said that the side molding piece for the GTS rear quarter panels are NLA.

With the birth of Porsche Classics maybe we need to update this list and pass it on to Porsche. I spoke with my Porsche parts rep today and we are not alone. He has a customer that needs a horn contact switch fixed on an air bag on a 993 or 996 and the only thing Porsche offers is an upgrade to the tune of $2-3k to retrofit a newer version of the steering wheel and airbag.

The whole list will need revamping as many of the parts are in stock again or have been superseded by a new number.

Ah, too bad - he was a bit of a surly curmudgeon but had some good contributions over the years.

Pass on to his brother that the 928 forum misses him (somewhat).
