When did Roger have the bad ones? I think I got it about a year and a half ago from him. Mine turned gummy. Has anyone else had them turn gummy?
I really should look for a new one as the hatch wont open properly, it sticks.

I've only installed Rogers and one other style so I can't say which is best. Having installed Rog's a couple dozen times, I'm sold on it.

Installation is very simple: You press down the plastic piston in the hatch receiver, and pry out the old insert. While holding down the piston, the new liner is inserted and snapped into place. Because of tight fit, this might take a bit of trickery, but there is nothing more to it. It takes about 10 minutes.

I bought one from Roger in May '09, worked fine when opening and closing manually, but the remote opener never worked despite hours spent adjusting everything. Last year the insert started to disintegrate, so I got another from Roger earlier in the year. I only got around to fitting it recently and it's Perfect!
Remote opening is 100% reliable, and I didn't have to adjust anything. Suggests that the recent inserts are much better than the earlier versions.
