Newbie 928 GTS owner in Finland: thanks 928 Rennlisters!
First of all: a big THANK YOU for this 928 Rennlist: an absolute invaluable community!
And a special thanks to the following rennlisters: I read your many posts which made my "928 quest", of preparing and finding a good one and making it even beter over the past months, so much more easier and insightfull (in no particular -but alphabetical - order):
- Dwayne: for fantastically well documented and photographed procedures, which gave me the full confidence that "for sure I can maintain my own 928, once I have found the one".
- Bill Ball: for numerous posts, including the one about "My Flexplate - Crank Endplay Check Pictorial" - a MUST read for all automatic owners.
- Theo Jenniskens: for his and Paul Moers developed diagnostic hard- and software (works great!) as well as their much improved flexplate clamp (installed).
- Alan Moore: for all things electric/electronic, and I have - shamelessly - implemented several improvement project items as documented on his web-site.
- Wally Plumley: for so many insightfull posts, including e.g. the good advice of the yearly maintenance on all electrical ground points.
- Erkka Vilhunen: for so many very detailed posts, which - among other things - helped me deciding which model years + engine # range + options to go for (X38 being one of them).
After 1+ years of very serious searching my "928 quest" ended in me flying to Germany (private sale), and after further testing and buying it driving it back to Finland (official testing, import tax and Finnish number plates followed after that).
By now you are all totally bored with all my above "bla bla bla..." and wonder: is this guy ever going to post some pictures, or what?!? Here they are (hope it all work, as this is my 1st ever post):
More later of what I have done till date, and still needs "doing".

Congradulations on your new purchase.
Very nice car. Love the color too.
You are so right about Rennlist and all the guys that you mentionned.
But also there is so many others that make this site such a unique place to learn on our 928.
Thank you EVERYBODY on Rennlist.
Is you car Irish Blue or Cobalt Blue?

From your avatar it looks like we have same outside, Irish blue, color?
Patience was indeed needing, including "walking away" from a few (and I have to admit that such was hard to do, and now very happy I did so).

You are so right: many more very dedicated 928 rennlisters, my list could have easily been many times longer!
Your Cobalt Blue 928 looks great, and that is judging from your avatar alone. Mine is Irish blue.

Hi Herman,
A beauty of a 928 you have, judging from your avatar!
Speed limit wise: about the same 928 exception as you have in the U.S.A. However: Germany is rather close to Finland so I will go there every now, as speeding fines in Finland are proportional to your yearly income and the highest "in the world" (just to quote Jeremy Clarkson). The following article gives a nice example about a 170K EUR fine (and yes: you read that amount correctly!): http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3477285.stm
