Been looking for one of these for my track car for some time... I had forgotten how "beefy" they were LOL.
Thanks to Shane (Stealth)..for selling it to me. Now I need to box in the mounts...before I rip em right off the car

Jeff,
No other option at all apart from DR's awesome set of bars. Jeannie told me last week that they are close to having them fixed and they should ship shortly.
I tried the other available sway bar but it was way to low and got ripped off. Very scary when it did.
It also did not seem to add anything to the party.

Talk about spooky deja vu moment...I am reading this thread and Dan at Addco calls.
We have been trying to get together again the past few weeks and hoped to do so before SITM. We are shooting for early next week for me to have a 928 on the lift here so he can come over and check everything one more time before continuing production.
This past issue was purely related to production issues vs design issues, but he(we) wants to be absolutely sure before building more. Luckily someone I have known for years just starting working there who happens to own a 928. So with him there with his 928 everyday, plus he is determined to assist in any way he can, hopefully we will get some more consitant production results.
FYI, the 5-6 who had a front bar problem (made too wide) in the last batch will get replacements first, then we will go from there slowly and see what happens.

NIce score on the DEVEK bar Tom, that will make a huge difference on the track car.
Chuck, next time I've got my S4 on the lift, I can post pics of the sway bar mount mod. Al Blose, a local 928 owner, made some templates to close off the open backs of the sway bar mounts. He then welded a short section of angle iron up the sides of the mounts to the frame. The angle iron is the same "depth" as the supporting rib (there are two) that are stamped into the sides of the mounts to give rigidity. The angle iron piggy backs the length of the support rib and then continues up the side of the frame, and is welded in place.
I was one of the lucky ones that got a set of 928SP swar bars from DR's first run.
They are truly awesome (front and rear). I have yet to ride in a street 928 that corners like my car with the 928SP bars and the 928SP koni/eibach set up. There simply is no need to brake when approaching any corner on the street, just lift and crank the wheel. I continually suprised passengers when I'd hang a corner without braking. Last year, I pulled out the shocks to use in my track car (temporarily), and in the meantime put the spring/shocks from the track car (stock '79) into the S4. Basically just to hold the chassis up off the wheels, I wasn't expecting the S4 to be drivable with the tired OB suspension. Going down the road it blows through the suspension travel pretty quick, but when it comes to cornering, those 928SP bars still take care of business.
Buy them. They are excellent.

Thanks for the kind words...it also makes the "Swaybar Fiasco" even more aggravating for me. I had the perfect design that were manufactured perfectly and sold bunches of the first ones. Since that first production they haven't been able to do it right ever since their ex lead production guy left the company...very frustrating and now makes me cringe at the word "swaybar" everytime I hear it. GRRRRRR
It just can't (or shouldn't) be that difficult..but what do I know.
Cheers,

Tom - I'd like to see what you do, too. One of the sway bar boxes is bent on my black car.
I saw the other day that Mark Robinson has a clamp on style (on eBay). Looks interesting AFAIK, except for the Energy Suspension bushings, whose brackets break (at the slot) pretty quickly after installing them.

Ken,
The Mark Robinson sway bar is what I tried. No disrespect to Mark but it required some fettling to make it fit and the improvenment was lackluster. The brackets were way to low and on my car caught a cattle grid at 120 and it was ripped off - an aws**t moment to say the least.
