Spent a few days with the Transmission Legend
I finally made it up to Walden, NY to meet Steve Cattaneo at his shop "Mastertech Transmission".
My AT was ready for an overhaul and I couldn't think of anyone other than Steve to build a replacement. He not only assembled a fresh transmission, he also included an LSD, which I didn't have before
When I arrived Friday morning, he was still assembling the trans and was nice enough to let me watch over the shoulder. Steve was very meticulous, like myself and it was a pleasure watching it go together. It was cool watching him torque different areas and knowing the torque values for each without needing to look them up...He worked until 10:30 that night and came in Sat morning to finish
While Steve was doing his magic, his mechanic Rob dis-assembled the rear end and dropped the worn out tranny. Rob was a true professional and also let me over-the-shoulder.
Once Steve was done with the build, he and Rob was lightning fast installing it and putting the rear end back together
Once finished, Steve and I took Rocket for a test drive to see how she was shifting...after he was good with the results, I told him that I wanted to drive back to the shop. Let's just say that Rocket loves the LSD and Steve was taken by a big surprise while being pushed back in his seat
It was a pleasure to finally meet Steve, as he's given a lot of great advice to the forum over the years...it was a trip that I'll always remember!!
Thanks Steve

Although it has been a few years since I have seen Steve, he has always been willing to help and assist with trans problems and possible upgrades as time permits.
Have you asked him if TIC and TOCK still work for him?

That is one, of many people, that i'd love to pick the brains of.
Well done.
