Here's the breakdown of "Euro" 32V 928S by country code and engine type:
C00 M28.43 1
C00 M28.45 72
C00 M28.46 142
C08 M28.44 100
C10 M28.45 5
C10 M28.46 44
C11 M28.45 2
C23 M28.45 30
C23 M28.46 120
C26 M28.44 1
C00 = Germany
C08 = Japan
C10 = Switzerland
C11 = Austria
C23 = Australia
C26 = Singapore
(M28.45 and M28.46 are the 9.3:1 compression "smog motor" 32V '86 engine - identical to the US 85/86 engine except the pistons have a deeper dish).

Jim,
You need to go watch your 928 EVOLUTION DVD again... No EURO S's are 32V cars... 16V cars only...as is mine. And, yes, while it was $3600 to buy it immediately need $3k in mechanical attention and then another $1500 in cosmetic help (and then I added the expensive cool wheels to it)... But to have a NICE (very nice actually) 928 you need to budget a minimum of $7500 IMHO... If you buy it for $1k you are probably going to need to spend another $6.5k on it to make it nice... That would be a pre-85 car too!

I'm one of the folks here who drive a S4 picked up for $4K. That's just because I simply couldn't pass up the price. But when you consider the work I have done on it and the work that is ahead of me, I would have been much better off to pay a little more and get a lot less project. If you can raise you figure to $9K you can get a whole lot less work. There was an interesting car on the list here over the weekind that I think was in that ballpark.

James,
Plenty of 32v ROW S cars out there.
Roger
Sorry Hilton already said that.

Remember I bought mine for $3200. There are a couple more out there in the ballpark. But he's going to be looking at an '85, '86, for sure, not an S4 for that money.

I sold an 86.5 with salvage title for $5500. It was a DD car, but had a few small issues. That one in Desoto looks familiar. I wonder where I saw it before.
I really liked my 86.5, and would plan to get another if I were shopping. Red only of course.
