Hey all, I thanked Jeff Koch for a great job on the article. He said if you'd like to see more coverage of the Porsche 928, write to the editor and express your positive opinion of this article - they'd love to hear from you. Also, if you don't subscribe to Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car magazine, buying this July copy would help prove there is an audience for this topic near and dear to our hearts.

I invited them down for Frenzy a couple years back but didn't get a response. Figured they'd drive down to Dulles!

It's pretty cool to see an article like that and be able to say "hey I know that guy".

Way to represent!! Thanks from all of us!!

I will be renewing my subscription and I will write a letter saying this article is WHY! I do like the magazine actually.

They are welcome to come to my place and take pics and learn about all kinds of 928's if they want...Had Autobahn Ambition out several years ago but have added two REALLY NICE 928's to the collection since that article. Have had a local TV station out once...that was WAY BACK when I only had 5 928's! LOL!

They would need more than one magazine to do justice to your stable!

The original Houston oil man who owned my GTS finally traded it for a Maserati after 12 years.

Anyone else out there have a one owner 928????

Gary what year is your 450Sl I thought 73 was the first year made. I recently inherited my fathers 75 450SL he purchased new. Still think the SEC was one of the finest cars they ever made.

I'd like to do a poll here of how many GTS owners have had the speedometer needle at 171 mph!
There is no place where I've driven mine that I can do that. Only get the S4 to 138-140 on the back straight at VIR (but that's in 4th gear).

Gary--
Yep and I can attest to him doing so. His car looks great going down the back straight at VIR. I have not had my GTS up to speed but i am sure it could hit close to 171 knowing how many RPMS were left at the speed I was doing.

The article is a home run and they couldn't of picked a more dedicated 928 enthusiast than Rich.

Kudos Rich !!

Anthony,

YOU are exactly correct - my SL is only 38 years old!! The 41 is a result of insufficient caffeine when I did the mental arithmetic early one morning!!! See you at VIR? (I'm going a week later than the usual NNJR event - this one's run by Carolina region).

Rich - love the new avatar

Also, there is another article in there about a designer who designed the Merkur XTRi based in part on the 928.

"A true GT cruiser, the V-8 has great torque making driving effortless, the handling is great and the looks are timeless. The 928 takes everything in stride, does what you need and ask, and does it with ease...off idle torque is magnificent, anything from idle on up is usable... What to pay for a 93 GTS: Low - $22K, Average $24K, High $27K. -- article by Jeff Koch"

They certainly picked the right car and definitely the right person for an article about the GTS. Congrats, Rich!

Rich,
Congratulations! I'm going out tomorrow to pick up a couple of copies to add to my 928 literature collection.

His high estimate is a little low, but probably what the blue book says...

I'm in the Motorcycle magazine business, and let's just say that's it's not an easy thing to get on a cover of a national magazine. Congratulations, and great looking ride. T
