Just bought my first shark as a project car, knowing that it is gonna take a big investment to restore, it was only $475. Needs A LOT of work, but the body itself seemed to be in fairly good condition.
Now my question is, would an interior from lets say, an 95/86 or even a 89, fit into my 1980 928 5speed?
I've been trying to figure out the difference in the years for the interior but couldn't find much in the forums, whether here or other sites. could be the way i worded the search, but no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and hopefully someday i can take a cruise with some of ya and to a SITM meet, until then, im a shark out of the water.

Yes it will, all it takes is some labor to swap out the parts.
One of the great things about our cars is the LACK of change between the years, they just improved on what it started with.
I've managed to work a GTS interior in to my '88, so everything is doable. Just takes time and determination.

Doors are different depending on the location of the factory door speakers. Also, interior the rear quarter panels were changed in later years so that the cargo area carpet is slightly smaller on those.

It will be a long road, but keep thinking what it will look like.

First off, i would like to thank you guys for your help, i was starting to think this was goona be a major hunt to piece an interior back together.
so in theory (its late for me so my mind may not be thinking right) if i just grabbed the cargo carpet from the "donor car" i got the 1/4 trim pieces from, i should be good?
and for the door panels, im assuming (i know i know, assuming makes an *** out of u and me
) that the 80's panels would still match up to the air ducts on the dash. would that be a correct assumption?
And again, i thank you all for your time and help, it is greatly appreciated

I've been slowly working a '89 black/slate gray interior into my '86.5. Rear seats mount in diferently and will require switching to the later style method, or removing the coverings and putting it on the older seats. The covers where the fader **** and hatch release is mounted to are larger '89 vs. '86.5, another swap the carpet over to the smaller ones or drill and tap new mounting holes. '89 rear seat belts are different as well, since they are three point and hook to the c-pillar. Speaker systems are different, I was able to buy a set of speakers from Alan the will allow me to have speakers at all the new locations.

Be sure you get the proper seat belts for front seats as well. The early cars seat belts attached to the car body and later attach to the seat frame.
