Actually, it pretty much would. That car could be a GREAT deal for someone. Pick it up for less than $5k + $4k worth of work and you have a <$10k GT. It'll have a salvage title most likely, but still a bargain with only 73k on the clock.

Too far away from me.

No reason for a salvage title if it was simply donated.

Fwiw, There are also all sorts of reasons car gets a salvage title that are not really a bad thing. States have some screwy, and not consistent, laws on this stuff.

+1

I've seen cars that were rolled into a ball, unrecognizable sitting at the insurance auction with clean titles.
While other cars with nothing more than a simple fender bender with salvage.

Often the damage is not obvious especially undercarrage and /or mechanical. If a car gets stolen and the engine blows up....... One GTS was totalled salvage title because the oil cooler was holed and driven until it was toast.....The Porsche dealer wanted like $35,000 for a NEW engine back when they were available.

Well, often times a stolen car will get a salvage title simple because it was not recovered in a reasonable time frame and the insurance company paid out on it.

Meanwhile, the car was simply stolen by someone who used it as transportation for 5 miles and then left it in a parking garage where no one notices it for 6 months.

Has anyone seen this in person I think I may bid? Do we know for sure it is not a salvaged title. I cannot import to Canada with a salvage title

Yup, I'm watching. I wish it was closer to me. Things could get expensive quickly if you aren't ready to pick the car up within a day or two.
