It's possible that this may have played into how quickly they ended the auction. Maybe not, but it seemed like they drew out some of the muscle car auctions much more. Maybe that's because they had reserves which weren't met?

Watch for this car--they will fix the rear-detail the **** out of it-then sell it for $20K online...

I bid 9150, then 2 seconds later it went to 9250 then bid again 9350 he said sold in under 1 second. I do not think it was a fair sale. I am guessing it went to an employee or something like that. I was going to go as high as 11k.

Having seen auctions like this which progress very, very quickly and the call to end (going once, twice, gone!) being done uber quick it is best if you had a number in mind as you say you did and seeing numbers progress at the speed they did to bid a larger increment, i.e. instead of bidding $9150 should have bumped up right then to say $9500. This throws all but the most serious out and typically the next bidder will think and not bid so quickly thus giving you more time as well.

An auction is not put your highest bid in first, that is comical to suggest.

I have been to many auctions and the car was only going to be sold to 1 person today and that was the person that won. I could not have bid any faster, I did everything correct. There was no going once going twice.......

The real loser is the charity that was selling the car, and the person that made the donation.

My point was; you saw how quick the bidding was going, saw other cars prior which the going once, twice, etc, was done with lighting fast timing, you were willing to go to $11k and thus if had done as suggested might have been a better outcome for you and the charity..

In any event, all water under the bridge...

Agree that the real loser was the charity though...

You could have entered a max amount bid hours earlier . the automatic bid would have incrementaly bid for you .

I am not putting my highest bid in right away unless it is a silent auction. It is not an automatic bid, it is basically having the auction house place the bid for you, if it was like an ebay system then putting your max bid in first is smart. I watched all 160 auctions before this one and it was not even similiar to them.

Yes it did. The online bidders never really had a chance at this one.

The new ad doesn't even mention it's a GT. Weird.

That says it's an 88. The auction car was a 91!
