Has anyone here (besides the seller) seen this car in person?

What were your impressions?

I saw it years ago. It was really clean at the time he came by my friend's house.

So...are there any close by Rennlisters that are willing to have a look at this car for Minnesota Denny? I'm willing to drive it (north) to Santa Barbara or (south) to the San Fernando Valley.

I drove her today...she's purring like a lion cub.

Hi Bill, I'm still hugely indebted to you (and Brian D.) for your help with my "intake refresh".
Believe me, I hate to see these wheels go.

Thanks for the testimonial, Bill.
Truth be told....you know that my 86.5 is the only other 928 on the west coast that has done a burnout like yours in front of 928 Intl.

Letting the wife have a look. She is not a white fan, but I can wrap it in matte black and fix that if she is interested.

Just think what a cool 928 family you'd have....

1 - Black on Black
1 - White on White
1 - Black with pasha (the "blend")

DUDE!!!

6 years and 100,000 miles and you haven’t checked the flex plate and crank end play?!!!!!

That is a MAJOR concern!!!!

Do you still have the factory clamp, or have you added anything?

I like your car and am interested.

But! I need to know what the crank play is!

I DON'T want to get involved with a TBF car!

Is there anyone around your area that can check that?

The 86.5 is SOLD.

To say, "I have mixed feelings" is an understatement. I will truly miss this car...nearly shed a tear as I walked away. Eleven years as a daily driver is a long time.

I want to thank everyone here who helped me maintain the 86.5 over the years....and also to everyone who offered positive comments during the sale.

The new owner lives in Marina Del Rey, so the 86.5 will be staying relatively local.

As a bonus I gave the new owner, Joe, the directions to this nut house we call home. Hopefully, he'll turn up and introduce himself someday.

Now....where's that 89GT that's been calling my name?

Derek,
Congrats on the sale. Man I hope mine will sell on ebay. Yours is just beautiful and I can appreciate the hard work it takes to keep them as daily drivers. My 79 has been my DD since 2006. and I have had a shark as a DD since 1991. I wish you well on your next one. I also understand the tears. When my white 88 burned, I had tears everywhere once the fire was out and I saw it for the first time. Not sure how I will feel when Ole Blue goes. I have an 86.5 to help with the pain though.

Post some pics of your new one when you find it,

Thanks, Frank.
FWIW, the buyer of my car appreciated the fact that it had been my daily driver for so long. Hopefully, someone will recognize this value in your '79, as well. Best of luck with your sale. Aside from luck...a really good price helps alot too.
