dprani, when your clutch went out did it still spin with the A/C belt attached...? what burned out and how did it look after it was burned out...?

Yes, the pulley continued to spin, but when the A/C was turned on, the middle portion of the compressor did not spin. My next step in diagnosis would be to disconnect the compressor clutch wire and apply 12V directly to it with the car running while watching the center of the compressor. If it begins turning when you apply 12V, then the problem is not the compressor clutch. A convenient 12V source around there is the jump post. The clutch wire is black and goes from the main wiring harness on the front of the engine down to the compressor, just slightly to the passenger side of center. Be careful of the belts with the engine running. Never keep the compressor running this way more than 10 seconds or so if the system is low on refrigerant.
