Default Just got my new GTS home

I’ve now got a 95 manual GTS, to keep my 82 company, which I picked up last week from Melbourne and drove/ferried it back home here to Hobart. The trip was from the city of Melbourne in the State of Victoria, across Bass Strait, and then from the North of Tasmania down to near Hobart in the South.

The colour is Aventura Gruen Metallic with Cedar Green interior, and was a special order car at the time, with the original invoice showing a price of $247,348.00 after a discount of $5000.00. In 1992 there were 8 GTS’s sold in Australia with only one being a manual, in 1993 15 imported (1 manual), in 1994 22 imported (1 manual), and in 1995 15 were imported and this one was the only manual. The VIN shows it was the second last 1995 GTS sold in Australia.

The car was purchased new by a very wealthy businessman, was owned by him until almost a year ago, and was always garaged. The last four years of that time it was rarely driven, but was still serviced by the original selling dealer in Sydney.

Less than a year ago the second owner acquired the car as part of a business deal, but found he wasn’t driving it enough to justify owning it. I first looked at the car a few months back and finalised the deal two weeks ago.

I’ve spent hours checking it, and also had it PPI’d, and it’s in great condition with only minor issues to deal with. It won’t be difficult to get it perfect, because it’s very close to that now.

Here’s a photo some weeks ago when I first looked at it ……

… and another …

… and a shot showing the interior colour.

On the lowest deck of the ferry for the voyage home…

A pic of the ferry …

The rear door is opening, the ramps being lowered into place and I’m ready to go …

The ramp at the back of the ferry …

Driving down the road away from the ferry at 7 in the morning …

A front view at the side of the road near the old race track at Longford in the North of Tasmania.

Looks good from behind too ..

A closer shot of that beautiful colour .. which takes on a different shade every time the light changes.

The weather here has been terrible with rain almost every day since I got home … but the sun’s out now so I’m going for a drive ... and to take some more pics.

I've already had it on a hoist, changed all the fluids and checked the recently fitted belt/pump, and all I have to do now is get my new number plates fitted.

Yippee ... ...

Thanks for all the compliments ... I'll post some more pics in a few days.

BTW .. forgot to mention it's done 121,00km which is 75,000 miles. Not a garage queen but low enough mileage for me ... only just run in.

Downunder we not only drive on the other side of the road, and have the steering wheel on the other side ... we also ride pushbikes a different way too
