That's my black 928. She's an old hag but I drive her daily and doesn't let me down.
Next time you guys are at the California Festival of Speed with a camera, find me on the grid and I can get you between the blue walls on the track side of pit row.

I've told him before - he's the best driver in traffic I know. Extremely level-headed, controls his emotions well, VERY competitive, and he stays ready.Works his but off running or bicycling to keep his weight down and his endurance up like few do. A serious driver. Dedicated to the craft.
Watching the video of Mark slicing the field in Lemons was very educational....then comparing his decision making with Kiborts (very similar) and how every lap is consistent, regardless of traffic was also very helpful to my driver development.....Bottom line is if you want to improve your skills racing in traffic....do a Lemons event in a powerful (for lemons) car.....
Of course the speeds in Lemons is MUCH lower & with street tires that are very forgiving allows a huge margin for error, which Anderson didn't make any at Sears....
I was very lucky to have him and Kibort on the team.....

Probably not a fair comparison as every lap had tons of traffic. The slowest driver could have had the fastest lap given the right circumstances. If you wanted a meaniful comparison you'd have to compare many laps and take an average and without any full coarse cautions.

mine were slightly faster on both lemons races, but we are talking tenths. as mark said, we had a lot of traffic during our 6 stints, of near 1.5 hours each, over two lemons races, but I think I can hang with Mark in the S-box!
I was able to run the same time him in his car and me in mine, at the GTGP race at laguna in november, when their was rain. (we both were on drys) I dont think his extra torque helped very much, in fact, it probably hurt him a little (as well as his stiffer suspension). I won that race, he won when it dried out the next day . when it did dry out, he was on slicks, I was on DOTs, has 175more hp, weighs 150lbs less, has motons, wider, etc, and was 2.7 seconds faster. 1:33.4 vs 1:36.1 for me.
here is the video

and Jim, I said 160mph, while I know Mark is going 170mph! I dont think my car actually would go any faster than his cup car, so probably really more like 155mph if I was to guess. So, i dont need a passenger seat in marks car to go that fast.

Congrats Mark A.! and Mark K. as well, for both of your continued dedication to 928 racing! That's a great video too!
I've said it before, wish you two were closer to us here in Florida! Watching the 928 racers at Sebring & Daytona was always a blast! In 2007 when Mark A. came to Sebring and raced Constantine's 928 Coke racer was a real treat for us here. He showed his driving talent. Can't remember the specifics, but seems he passed most of the pack to go from way in the back to up near the front before the car couldn't keep up with him any more. Kudos to Constantine for providing him the ride for us all to enjoy!

This seems to show off the technology for it's time, and how with a good driver, the 928 is still relevant today in racing.
Could one expect a similar outcome with a an older version of a number of makes, such as an rx-7, 300zx, or an early 90's supra or corvette, racing with Porsche 911 GT3's ?

It is really hard to compare...due to traffic...... I think Kibort had the best single lap at Sears, but Anderson did at Thunderhill..... However they all were close....typically within 1 second..... I was VERY proud to "FTD" on Saturday at our 1st lemons event.....which again isn't fair since Anderson went out 1st with the most traffic...followed by Kibort....I went out last, so lots of cars were already broken.....however my lap time was dismal by todays standards.....2:23 is NOT very good at Thunderhill even in lemons trim... Last month I did a 2:15 in lemons trim....The lap record at Thunderhill for a lemons car is still held by the 928 Estate at 2:14.07...with a good spec miata driver at the wheel....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qptfVecjKwc
At Sears everyone's laps were close.....I actually charted them by the video and everyone was consistently in the low 2:20's.....Kibort did a 2:16.9, Anderson and I both were in the low 2:19's Sean was right at 2:20 flat.....

oddly enough mine was on a partial yellow lap....
