I've discussed this with Mark to great lengths, we've come to the conclusion any more power would cause a steep drop-off in fuel economy and greatly increase green house emissions.

Just not worth it. Just have to keep spanking the Beetle Brigade with the current power at hand.

Clearly Mark is a skilled driver.....I had the pleasure of having him drive for me twice during Lemons events..... I particularly like this stint
http://www.vimeo.com/7875316

Mark passed 158 cars in 1 hour....the entire field was 155 cars!!!!

One other aspect of Anderson beating modern GT3 cups and RSR's is the "checkbook racing" factor....Mark shows up alone pulling a modest trailer with his SUV.....does all his own work, runs used slicks (sometimes new) and is a complete 1 man show..... The guys he is racing against have $250K cars, supported by full crew with the best of everything.....they probably spend $20k per WEEKEND....and still loose to the 1988 928....

However Mark can beat most of them in his GT3 cup car too!!! :>)

He is hitting 170MPH + as he enters the big turn 1,2 on the oval section of California Speedway, yes where NASCAR runs. Then brake way way down for the 90 degree left on to the infield section of the course. Note he does that WITHOUT ABS.....Yea, very good driver.

Certainly awesome job Mark! I have seen some of your videos and the the skill is apparent,,,,you were slicing and dicing like nobody's business. Great to see our "old" supercar was truly years ahead of its time and remains a great car to own, due in no small part to efforts like yours!

Congrats Mark!!

I say when the day comes to retire this car that it be sent to the Porsche museum in Stuttgart. I dont think ANY 928 in any configuration has racked up so many race miles, in such competitive events and done so well!

Hi Tony,

I thought this sounded a bit better since it's true!

Let's get some details and videos already!

Cheers,
