Are you from Kitchener? I have seen an orange 928 driving around here occasionally and I always wondered who it was.

Nice car!

Could you show us some pictures of your dash? How was 'Just Dashes' to deal with? Any caveats to shipping from/to Canada with them? I'm in Ontario too (Niagara Region) and my dash sure could use some improvement. Are you happy with the result? Was it straightforward to reinstall after their rebuilding (did they change the dimensions of the dash at all)?

The car looks great! Maybe if you're not too far some of us Southern Ontario 928ers can get together some time this season.

To answer as many questions & queries as I can:

Used the S4 spoiler, just because I liked the look better. The spoiler was used, so I bought black rubber stain and restored it. Got both wipers with the spoiler because each new one is US$305, so I bought two used ones – in case they start getting rare. If one goes, I can move the other over. Besides, it provides continuity of aesthetics (-:

I put the bra on because I drive on the 401 Expressway a lot, and there is always gravel and sh*t kicking up. Like I said, this is my daily driver from the time the snow goes.

Will get pics of the McIntosh components. It is an MX-408 deck & a MC440 amp with external cross-overs. The amp is in the spare-tire well, just above the battery on its own platform. I had a wire mesh enclosure built so the amp gauges can be seen (and the amp can cool). The mesh is visible in the last pic next to the sub-box. The subs are 8" audiophile "Sound Elemental". They are not pavement thumpers, but they are incredibly clear.

I am located in Southern Ontario - and while I do not live in Kitchener, I am there quite often....so it was probably my car you saw.

As to the dash, and Just Dashes...they were extraordinary to work with. I packaged and FED-EXed the dash down to them. I believe there is an on-line form...can't remember. They strip the dash down to the metal frame, straighten any defects and then put new (and better) foam on. They then match exactly the vinyl on the dash to the leather they took off, and away they go. It was a perfect fit to the car. I then replaced the glove box and recovered the glove-box door and the centre console in leather to match. I was never a big fan of the leather dash. With the seams, it just did not have the clean look I was looking for. The pod is black. There are no cracks or anything like.

Had the AC rebuilt last year, runs great, and the seat heaters are a God-send for my old bones. . .

I will try to take better pics and will post if you want.

Nice job! You have earned your 928 owner's stripes already.

Good info about that leather softener. I have been partial to Leatherique Rejuvinator Oil. It surprises me that anything can rehydrate old leather overnight. I'll give it a try.

MORE PICTURES!

I am very familiar with Sound Elemental, amazing sq! I have a friend that just replaced all the components in his 300M, I think a set of 5.25" were $2500? Don't quote me, but I remember they were pricey, but the sound...
