Pics of my 1984 928S...

This is my 928S. I have dropped an obscene amount of money into it - more than I would ever get back if I sold it, but hey - we all must have our vices.
The first year, the motor was removed and all gaskets replaced - including the head gasket & the tranny was rebuilt.
In the years following, it was stripped down to metal for paint. It is a pearl metallic (three coats of pearl basecoat and five coats of paint - with clear coat on top.) Without saying how or where, I was able to access a website and get the precise formula for the Lamborghini 'Arancio Atlas' paint.
The interior was removed entirely and my wife (God love her) and I reconditioned the leather seats and panels in our living room while the car was being painted. I do not wish to plug the product we used, but it brought my dry cracking seat covers back to glove softness overnight. AMAZING stuff!!! I had seat heaters installed and the upholstery guy could not believe how the leather had been rehabilitated. Never seen anything like it in 35 years he said.
There is new carpeting all around.
The dash was sent to 'Just Dashes' in California and was rebuilt. I have a McIntosh CD player and a McIntosh 6-channel amp. Two 8" subwoofers in a custom built cabinet, two-way Infinity Kappa Perfects in the rear passenger section and three-way Infinity Kappa Perfect speakers in the door.
The car is automatic but I have a MOMO shifter with a leather boot to make it look like a standard.
I also have a MOMO wheel. It has 993 rims with Kumho XS tires: 245/50 R16 front & 265/45 R16 in the rear.
For the quick of eye, you will see that I have replaced the 'S' type rear spoiler for an S4 type spoiler. Looks better I think.
This car is my daily driver during the summer. I put about 20,000K on it each year and it has NEVER failed me. I take care of it (just replaced the timing belt, pulleys and water pump again this year) and it loves to drive.
There is nothing that does not work - except the cruise - which I do not want anyway.
The pics are from my iPhone, so they are not the best. The car shines and twinkles in a good sun.

Nice looking shark with a modern touch of orange.
Give us the leather treatment name, plugs are welcome here.
I don't normally like a nose cover on a 928 but yours looks ok with that color.
Where in Ontario are you? You can add your location to your avatar.
Thanks for the pics.

I have an 84 as well. I was lucky, mine was featured in the pano in 2007. I have not invested a lot, as mine was in pretty good shape. Did do TB & WP, new seats, rims, and some paint. I have very little invested in the car including buying it. I enjoy it on longer trips. More comfy than the 951, but no where near as fast. But I enjoy the ride and feel while traveling to Montauk for a weekend get away.
Enjoy your ride and use it as much as possible. Good luck it looks great. Where are you located.

The leather treatment website is http://colorplus.com/index.html
The stuff is absolutely amazing. I mean my seat leather was so dry and shrunken that it felt like it would rip and the slightest pressure. We cleaned it, then painted the 'Soffener' on to it. Now, like I said, it is glove soft. It does come off on your clothes. Put it on once each summer, with the windows up, as maintenance, and it just is absorbed in to the leather.

You have done a very nice job on this! I hope the bra won't scratch your beautiful new paint. Have you considered having clear bra installed instead?
Interesting that you installed the S4 rocker panels, but not the pieces for the doors. Also interesting that you put spoilers on both windshield wipers (passenger side doesn't need one).
Thanks for the tip on the leather softener! Many here could use this!

Nicole,
Good eye!!! I would have passed on the S4 wing too, but other than the bra and S4 wing (and rockers) LOVE IT! I want to see a nice shot of the Mac gear in the car!!!

Would really like to see some clear pics of the car. I thought the Iphone was supposed to have an excellent camera built in?
I agree, Mac pics would be great, not many people mess around with high end stuff. The sub box looks clean, what subs are in it? I have old Eclipse stuff from the 90's in my Blazer... It's all about the sq!

Nice work! I've been contemplating repainting my '90 either orange or yellow, so I appreciate seeing examples in those colors.
