Any chance you will be there? Typically not many 928's at these events, so it would be nice to see another shark on the track...
Well, for the last 10 years I've not been ON the track, I've been beside it yelling at drivers not to tear their stuff up, and fixing what they tear up. My New Year's resolution was to do some HPDE's and maybe I'll get the 928 dirty and try not to tear it up. I've got plenty of great instructors!

Since it's not a race, I'm not scheduled to be there, but you never know. I know Anne Keller is instructing there that weekend, so look for me at her trailer.

Well, If Ray gets my baby on the road by then, I will be there. I intend to drive my car every chance I get untill the wheels fall off. After having a shark as a DD for since 1991, it has been over 6 months since I have driven one. Man, talking about major withdrawal. How do you guys manage to put them away for the winter? If I can't get my fix soon, I will be begging some of my neighbors to come by and take me for a ride

Here's an idea... Maybe we should have a gathering at Franks? Hate to think of him in withdrawals like that...

Centrally located for the state, very easy to get to once in the area I-40 exit to I-73 to Bryan BLVD and you are there. Being organized by the local ferrari/porsche/aston dealer with the help of the local lambo shop so lots of interesting cars should be there. This is the inaugural event, so who knows. Great excuse and location for a 928 meet.

Seems there are a lot of NC 928 people and Greensboro is in the middle of things so this could be a great event for all.

As luck would have it Saturday's forecast is questionable. So wake up and look out the window at 7:00 AM and if it looks OK drive the hour to a nice meet, if it is raining wait till next month.
Raleigh has the highest concentration of 928's.

Not so sure about that Ray... even counting fleets like what Rixter has.

Although, I am sure there are some 928 owners that don't frequent RennList and a DMV search may be required to locate all of them. Until that time however, I think the immediate Charlotte area has the Raleigh triangle handily beaten for the number of owners. Check out post #12 in this thread...

With NC being so large from East to West, the real challenge has been to determine a central location for the best turnout with a 3-hour max drive time (each way)... or have a roving location to get to those that are outside of that driving radius. Alternating months could be a plan also (central, roving, central, roving, etc.)

Advance notice and good weather also helps!

Well guys, as much as I would love to have you all at my house, my wife just had major cancer surgery on Friday. I am afraid she will not be ready for visitors for a while. Looks like I have to put all the pressure on Ray or I could entertain guest one at a time.

I am looking forwards to meeting you all,

Frank, very sorry to hear that, but hope the surgery went flawlessly and the prognosis is awesome.

Hi guys,
She had indimetrial cervex cancer but it was the 'serious' type that is the most aggressive. I brought her home today and we will know the prognosis either tomorrow or Thursday. She was at the UNC cancer center and her doctor was just the best. They found some attachments and had to seperate them for the full histerectamy (Can't spell). She and I are both worried about the cancer spreading through those attachemnts to the colon. David, congratulations on your wife's success. I lost my daughter in law 4.5 years ago to brest cancer that had spread everywhere before they found it after delivering my grandson. She lasted 5 months of the worst hell any family should ever see. My son just re-married and moved to Mississippi last year. When he took those kids, I can't explain the hell that has been. However, every part of my logical mind knows that those kids needs a real mother to help them grow up. Grand parents can only do so much.....

Sorry guys, I have rambled way more than I intended... We are lucky to have our sharks to take our minds off of other things. It might turn out to be a good thing that this one has been so much trouble. I have learned a ton, it has helped keep my mind off of other things and when I get finished, it will be like having an almost new 86.5....

Who wouldn't love that?

Frank, very sorry to hear about the wife. I hope everything turns out ok and y'all get the best news possible here soon.

Also, I'm not gonna be adding the brakes and suspension to my car as it turns out. I've got other stuff to take care of and I can't justify the added expense for "fun". Especially since my brakes and suspension are in top shape as they sit.

Hey Guys! I get in here and read what's going on once in a while. I just don't get enough time to add my two cents very often. I'm just working on David Alford's '83 928 right now and he's in no hurry! (Just Kidding David) I'd like to have some kind of a get-together at my shop/home, I built it with that in mind. It's got a bar, flat screen TV, seven channel sound system, car and wine art on the walls, A/C & heat, etc. Trouble is, the bar isn't done yet and since I work here, I've got cars and equipment in the way. Then I'd have to spend a few days getting it ready and that would mean stopping work for a few days. I think by Fall I'll be ready to invite you all over for a pig pick'n and I'm really looking forward to it!

The other option that wouldn't have the whole bar and set up for entertaining and HVAC would be we could gather at my shop. There's only 1 P-car there, but there's 10k sqft of GM performance stuff, but it's a more or less central to the Triangle and a place to gather. I could probably scare up a lift so Ray could do a tech session or something. I've got a dyno too, but then it's too much like a work day for me, but that's an option.

i am at the coast, but am interested in getting together with you guys as well....

I feel like the red headed stepchild here... the only 928 anywhere close..I think the next closest one is kinston or goldsboro..

I would love to get up there and hang out with nc growler again, and show off the areo mirrors he likes so much.... (steve, you better get them before the price doubles AGAIN...)....

frank.. hope your wife recovers well... we have had mucho cancer in my family.. almost lost my brother, and lost both parents to it in the last few years, so your wife will be in our prayers..

David... glad to hear your wife is totally clear of the cancer... hope she stays that way through the 5 year mark.

Steve, your shark might have some company in the not too distant future...with a little luck we will be living in Carteret County within 3 years...that is our goal. It mostly depends on whether or not I can find a decent job in the area. We think we will only be in Raleigh/Chapel Hill area for 2-3 years so that my family can babysit our little girl who is due in May.

Looking forward to some get-togethers this fall!!!
