NC 928 Owners - Monthly Shark Gathering?
#76
I saw 1 928 at the meet this morning. I was just arriving at 10 when a maroon 928 was pulling out alongside the fresh market. I was on my GSX and pointed but he did not see me. Must have been mallman, from the pic above.
Good weather, a little warm, great turnout, 458, 599, 430's, Superleggera's, 997's, diablo, 69 camaro, new camaro, 39 chevy, pantera, 1 928, my bike and a very awesome V12 Vantage in black, amazing sound. Lot's of amazing sounds.
Fun and would be nice to see more 928's in the future.

Sorry to hijack the thread...
Okay you North Carolina folks...some of you might have heard I'm losing my job on September 9. We are looking heavily in Texas and New York (where we live now) for my next gig. I have some opportunities coming up but suddenly got in touch with a company in Charlotte that is growing and would involve domestic and international travel. It would be a very decent salary and benefits which I know will go a long way in NC vs. NY!!
I know there are 6 or 7 Charlotte 928 Owners and many in the state. So-have any of you moved from New York to NC?? I've only been in Charlotte 2 times--most recently in 2005 (although I may have been back 1 other time since--can't remember).
We want to send our son to Charlotte Day School (Jewish parochial) so it's going to limit where we live to some degree.
They want to bring me down in about a week to interview in person...
Any advice/feedback would be warmly welcome!
Signed,
Yankee (one day Damn Yankee).

If you can afford to send your kid to that school and the job is good then it is pretty easy. Look at Google Maps and look at homes anywhere between Park rd/Johnson rd and Providence Rd all the way from Meyers Park down to Ballantyne and Audrey Kell. This is the nicest and most affluent area in Charlotte and close to Charlotte Jewish Day School. A nice straight drive to Uptown. Near South Park Mall and plenty of good food, stores, etc.. I personally enjoy Mamma Ricotta's up a bit near Uptown when I want a nice dinner(and can afford it. In any event, you should be happy here and I wish you luck if you take the job and make your way down here.

Sharks vs. the Dragon
I am new to this list as well as a proud new 928 owner living in the Charlotte area. I'm glad to see there are other 928 owners in the area and an active interest in building a community around these cars.
I would suggest it would be neat to do a weekend meetup at Deals Gap and see a bunch of sharks driving the Tail of the Dragon and other area roads. Scenery is great in the mountains this time of year too...good excuse for a road trip (as if an excuse is needed...) Can't wait to take my s4 up there first chance I get.

Welcome to the Shark Tank JWS... I know you'll find RennList an incredible resource in the years ahead... With the help of folks here, I've saved thousands of dollars in shop time already.
Seeing as this was your first post, I'd like to encourage you to go ahead and join us on RL and then immediately post a thread of introduction with a short story about how you came to own a 928. And please by all means include a picture!
Hoping we can find something in the middle of the state and schedule a "maximum NC attendance" even soon.

Interviews went very well. Owner of the company has a 2011 Panamera Turbo. Gorgeous in white. Black 2007 911 Turbo Cab. 2004 Cayenne Turbo in Black.
Of course I mentioned I owned and plan to find another 928...his response " I love the 928-classic-wonderful design and great performance. I always turn my head when I see one."
I like this company
Now to see if an offer comes in...I know I am in the running.

Be happy to give you a lift or show you around if you need anything, just message me and i'll give you my cell number.
Unfortunately my p-car will probably be in the shop undergoing final revitalizations in time for me to make the drive up to Frenzy....
I REALLY miss my car...bought her just 3 weeks ago & she's been in the shop for the past two getting some well needed care and maintenance, so she should be in tip top shape when i pick her up (hopefully Tuesday???)...
