Default i am such a redneck

well i was out tooling around today and the redneck came out in me...

I was styling and profiling, and this punk kid in a prelude with whatever that go fast sound muffler is called kept messing with me... CHOMP... shark had a snack...

then I was heading to my sons soccer game ( he was already there early with the wife)..
coming up in my rear view mirror i saw a convertable mustang coming up..
it was an SRV Cobra..aftermarket rims... at least 300's on the rear, license plate said "$nakebit".. well i had cruise set on 62 and he went by, so i sped up.. so did he.. .. he did not want me to get beside him.. we slowly accelerated then backed off for several miles.. then came to a stoplight..............
he was in front i was behind, he was looking in the rearview... we stomped it at the light and i was able to pull out and around him, and got past.... I was really surprised....

then leaving the soccer game the wife was in the jag and we played around on the trip home..... big redneck fun.....lol

I feel your "shame", wed. afternoon I was fartin' around and this kid in a camry (small letters)decided to play. He's got the wheels and tail pipe and thumping bass. I was riding with my next door neighbor's son (18), I apologized...told him that this is not the way... and then smoked the ricer. We were doing about 115mph in a 55 zone so I can't say how stupid I was. Then again I loved every second. Yes I am a REDNECK.

Back in the day, I used to love smoking Mustangs and Camaros in my Taurus SHO. Nothing puts desperation in a kid's face than knowing the buddy or girl in his passenger seat just watched him get walked by a family sedan...

That was when I was living in KCMO. KC has an amazing series of four-lane boulevards with well-placed stoplights and a beltway (I-435) that has to be driven to be believed. One of the few things I miss about KC (other than the barbecue and the Chiefs) are the highways and the boulevard system.

You are more than welcome to come on back to KC, rumor has it that there's going to be a stroker running around here. Now that will be some redneck fun right there.

My two favorite recent fords were the SHO and the Thunderbird SC. The SC handles better but I wouldn't have any problem having a nice example of either of them in my garage if the 928 was down and I needed to hit the highway!

T-Bird SCs were nice cars. But, I smoked a T-bird SC in my SHO one morning on a long stretch of I435.

Buried the speedo on that one...

It was a blast to drive. I put 165k on the clock and loved every mile of it.

Having achieved, I think more or less honorably, geezer status, I can say that I remember this sort of fun. Chapel Hill, 1969, let a brand new Kawasaki 500 leave me on my Beezer at a light, He was so proud, but I had just gotten a fairly MAJOR ticket and was not into playing. At least until Summit Point 1970 when I gave the same model a very thorough if I may say so drubbing, and a lesson about what a good handling bike can do, up against a real POS, at least in the handling department. Don't do that any more, well, maybe last year was an exception when some small machine, somewhat pretentious type, cut in front of me to get on an on-ramp after bumpin' my butt for half a mile. But my turf , my speed, I think he is still probably trying to figure out WTF. These old machines can still do the job.

Friend had an 1984 Buick T-Type, just about the same car as a Grand National. Rolling around Long Beach and Lakewood then LA and Orange County we smoked Mustang and Camaros like packs of Camels, and we didn't even smoke tobacco either. I can only remember getting our butts handed to us by a ZR-1. That was around 92-93.

I still have dreams of getting a Grand National or GNX someday and just use it as a weekend car. For sure I have Buick blood flowing through these Porsche veins of mine.

I wonder about the wisdom of posting things like this on the net?

If you are ever involved in a accident or caught going really fast, these post could be used to establish a pattern.

Thank god I never go over the speed limit.
