Default update on Bonneville racer....

I got some pictures of my friends future Bonneville racer..... The engine and trans are in...the roll cage is next with final sheet metal work to finish the firewall & body.... The engine WAY far back.....I would say a foot or more than a stock 928....

Here is the pics....

it is 100% true.... He is targeting a displacement based class and is hoping for 231+mph.....it will be "street" legal too...but so is your 928 too...

The amount of work and engineeering needed to rebuild the firewall and floor to regain the original strength is HUGE . Granted a full cage should help tie things together.... looks like mostly "defabrication" at this point in time.

Carl is 6.5L and boosted......this will be 4.99L NA....in street legal...

It is still very early in its development....lots of work to come.....there will be plenty of cage tubing and reinforcement around the firewall and where the TT tunnel used to be to increase strength were everything was removed....

I will be interesting to see what the final weight dist % is...

Hopefully a fire suppression system is in the budget.

That small block chevy sure looks tinny in there.

Looks like there is enough room for a big block.

To bad another 928 has been lost. Not many stock old girls left.

I also agree a big block would fit no problem....since the 928 engine is big block bore spacing on a small block deck height....
