Default 86.5 Restore Project

Look what the delivery transporter dropped off!
All i can say is wow,
its a really nice platform for a go through, and it`s a solid car.
Its a 1986.5 with a 5 speed and LSD its all there, it needs some TLC to bring it up to fine car status.
I will post more pictures as work progresses.

The new owner bought this car and is having me go through it like I did the Mossgruen 86.

This car has low miles 46K and appears to not have much sun damage,
it has a nice DK blue leather interior and we are swapping out the carpets for possibly a lite tan or camel....
MORE to come!

Getting a wash before I start

Looks good! H4's too.

Wonder what's up with the front bumper impacted.

The new owner made a good alliance with you.

after a wash and dry the paint looks very nice only a few minor flaws most should buff out.
All the pod gauges work.
But Interior lights not working , no defrost, no horn, no CC, no AC,
the LR wheel bearing may be going bad,
but otherwise the trans shifts like butter and you can feel the posi when coming out of turns, drive line is quiet.
the car is bouncy as well indicating worn shocks and the front wheels are out of alignment .
So i have my work cut out for me,
But all in all a very nice platform to start with.
I did fix one broken vacuum connector and now the engine runs smoothly and the egg smell is gone from the exhaust.
On we go!

Looks like my prior 86.5 at least how I got it (actually, mine was much rougher than that one). Mine was an auto tranny however. I did alot of work on it both inside and out (paint repairs of front and rear bumper covers, doors and hood, new chin spoiler, whole top end refresh and powder coat, plus many many other things). Here are some pics of what I did (I miss the the bugger):

Thanks Stan. I love that iris blue metallic. As to the interior, the tan or camel you suggest will look very good with the dark blue combo. Can't wait to see progress pictures.
