Front and rear alignment.
Hi, everybody. Im in Lafayette, Indiana and need to get my '84 928 aligned. I took it to a local shop; and tried to tell the m how credical keeping the cars weight on it while aligning. Well it seem O.K. until my rear tires ate away, in like 7000 mi. Had them replaced under warranty. And now at another 7000 mi. they look like cheater slicks. The rear want to get squirrely on wet pavement. Went back and talked to shop and they said rear was probably out of alignment. Should I take it to PORSCHE in Indianapolis, or does anybody know of a good shop with experience with my shark close to me?

just go to a basic shop with a hunter machine. have them align it. its simple, BUT no raisng the car for any reason.
how are the rears wearing. 7000miles is kind of quick, unless you are doing a lot of burn outs.

The rear is not usually a problem to align. You know the issue with the front, which if done improperly ends up with the tires toed out once the suspension settles, and wears the tires on the inside edge.
If the rear tires are wearing evenly, then I'm not sure why you blame alignment.

they are sumitomos HTR. The shop that aligned it. said it was probably alignment. There are no symptoms, in fact drives straight as an arrow. But on wet pavement the rear is real squirrelly
