I think a matte black would look great, but my opinion is that the red wing would be blingish, but it is your car so do your own thing!

Consider having it wrapped - this way you can undo it when you realize it's hard to keep the sheen consistent.

Leo Dano on Pelican just had his first 928 painted a matte black. There is a big thread and pictures in the Pelican forums http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...g-finally.html

^^^ Ever notice that the horse jumps backwards when the Ferrari badge is on the passenger side?

When the law catches up with my 928, and put it of the road, I intend painting it matte black with flames and relegating it to track duties only!

So I say go for it.

Re. the Ferrari, I had blue flames a yard long out the back of my 928 on the overrun when the gas (and I do mean GAS) mixture was too rich! Looked wild at night!

Cheers Roy

make sure to consider the maintenance though - the clear is the matte aspect of paint and while it won't require any wax, you'll have to stay on top of the washing to ensure the unprotected paint doesn't get contaminated like bird droppings or sap that will compromise the clear. Also, if should be stored indoors to avoid accelerated oxidation of the matte to make it too matte. The only real protection you can use is a detailer spray type wax...doesn't last long, but at least it will provide some protection from grime etc between washes.

Otherwise, Matte could look really nice if it's matched with the right wheels.

I've thought about doing a wrap, but need to see it done first before jumping off that bridge. I do, however, think it could be very very trick.

I think I'm going to wrap mine if the price is right. I'm torn between carbon fiber and Matt black

There was a Matte Black Carbon Fiber Cayenne at the Porsche dealership when I stopped by the other day. Looked pretty mean actually! I thought it was just matte black but when I got close I could see the CF weave. I am pretty sure it was a wrap, but didn't get out of the car to take a close look.

I am going to wrap my race car some day, but I am going to do signal green! Not matte either...just beautiful bright shiny signal green!
