I checked with one of the local wrap shops and they gave me a quote of $2,500. Much cheaper than a paint job. Also considering a semi-flat instead of a matte black; more along the lines of matching the spoilers.

Maybe concentrate on making it run first.
Its the satisfying part.

Just shoot some black primer on it and call it a day. Touch up is easy.

Several years ago there was a local 928 that did the flat black thing. The paint job was very mottled. He told everyone it was radar absorbing paint.

Here's a 944 done in chalkboard paint. Chris masked it up then bribed a bunch of friends over with a case of beer to do the paint job. Total cost was less than $60 (less beer). He said it's a lot of fun and he can change it on the fly for various races and he leaves chalk around for people to write on it as in the picture.

In person close up it looks exactly like what it is - a rattle can paint job done by a bunch of drunks. I was going to go this route until I saw it with my own eyes. I decided I didn't want to do that to my 928.

Maybe I need to think about it after a bottle or two of wine.
