With all due respect, little, crappy Craigslist pics can hide a Mack truck in the paint flaws that might (or might not) be there. I have looked at plenty of cars online and in pics and then looked at them in person and sometimes they don't even look like the same car...
This cars paint *MIGHT* be fine, but you can CLEARLY see the rear bumper cover paint is NOT in good shape. The front and rear caps are well known to go bad (paint-wise) before anything else, but you can't tell from those pics if the roof or hood are well painted or anything else for that matter. It will take a live visual inspection or some VERY CLOSE UP High rez pics.
If only the bumper covers do in fact need paint and the car runs and shifts well...BAM, this car would be a steal at $5k. Still, I'll stick with $2k in parts and $1k in paid labor if you don't do it yourself. Having JUST SAVED a car of roughly the same vintage and condition, I know of what I type...

My NON-competition package '81 has the plain old smaller brakes on the front. I suspect this will have the smaller NON-S brakes as well...

Erkka,
I just pulled my '82 brochure that came with BLUE82... it shows an OB and Comp Pkg car both and says 1982 specifications on the back page. In more than a few pics it is VERY CLEAR that at least the OB car has original smaller brake calipers... So either you are wrong or the brochure is wrong... I am going to stick with the Porsche brochure being correct on this one.

Many brochures used wrong MY pictures. See for example last GTS brochures. They still show Cup I wheels. There are other examples over the years. You just found one more.
See PET part lists and also '82 US model yearly changes document. It says: "The 928 is now equipped with floating caliper disc brakes on the front axle."

That engine compartment looks outstanding.
It could require nothing if maintained like it appears.
If that's original paint, this would be a no-brainer buy.
If its MAACO, no amount of reasonable money can bring it into conformance again.
Look at that shine....looking forward to the facts.

Just did a quick search of the phone number. It's a dealer--probably has what CA calls a "salesperson's license." Basically you sell/flip cars regularly. If not-then they are operating under the radar. In any event, make sure the car is smogged--or is '82 exempt now?

I think if you are on this forum with any kind of regularity then you are well afflicted already. If you are a daily visitor here then you are in the full blown stages of 928-itis!
