When I drive in the rain, I just turn on the wipers.

In reality, when it rains for a consistent period of time I go out and wash my cars. I pull them back into the garage and then give them a minor wipe down. Rainwater leaves no spots.
You really should use Nitrile gloves because your car could be latex sensitive and then you could cause the paint to blister.

Rain sometimes is the only way my car gets washed.

I said I wash my cars after it has been raining for an extended period of time. This way any acid, smoke, dust, in the air has already been washed out. I suspect you left the mildly acidic rainwater on your car and then it was exposed to sunlight. This will etch your paint.

My cars don't sit outside much unless I am traveling in them.

I only drive in the rain. If it's not raining, I'm on one of the motorcycles.

Daily Driver - through the deluge and flooded streets today. Just spray a little simple green on the wheels before going out and they end up nice and shiny! The bad bearing in the wiper motor is getting a bit annoying though.

I remember my bad rain and sleet encounters, and these were when I had BAD TIRES!

Somehow I encountered Freezing rain with both my 928 and 924!

Had to press very lightly on the gas pedal, and keep my left foot directly above the brake... The sleet on the ground was fun, but at the same time, even more horrifying. Both of the cars slid like crazy. The 924 actually slid more than the 928 because at the time I had worn Tie Rods, and the car would veer over to the right slightly, if not centering the wheel.

I did find vacant parking lots though... I could have cared less what I would have gotten in trouble for. That was just grand!

Ended up driving the 924 back to work because there was just no way of making it home without wrecking. The 928 made it back home safe, and it was a hell of a ride.
