Don't get me wrong, I've accelerated like a bat out of hell dozens of times (had it less than a yr, dont give me crap but never really literally put the pedal on the floor to do it. Does it make a significant difference in acceleration or do modern throttles not need it. I consider myself a car expert but feel stupid asking this question!

ok. put accelerator a bit down to get steady 2K rpm, depress clutch, put in 1st gear then start releasing very slowly until clutch will start engaging so rpms will get down a bit, then press clutch a hair deeper to get it free. press on gas more to get RPMs to 6K and keep `em steady at 6k then drop left foot off clutch pedal simultanioulsy pressing gas all way to the floor.
then enjoy what your car can actually do.
When I drive the 911 to work (rare), the onramp on the way home is a tunnel.
You better believe that pedal goes to the floor and I redline 1, 2 and get close to 3 and then 3-6 upshift before I lose my license.
Best way to start a Friday night ever.
I have to say that I was a little disappointed the first time I hit the floor. This car has so much more of everything than any car I've owned and it took me months to get comfortable enough in it to demand such power than the pedal meet the metal. Until then I'd always had this little voice telling me, "that was nothing, I haven't even hit the floor yet!"
I seldom have a need to floor it, especially after the new cats.
Really the only time that is an option is getting onto the highway, where I try to do it every time.
