Spanner Wrenches for Oil Line Fittings
I bought this wrench set many years ago but could not remember where I got them or find them online again. I just found the receipt and it notes they are Sir Tool P242, designed for Porsche oil fittings. I just wanted to say that they have worked very well for that purpose (and others needing 27, 30, 32, 36mm wrenches), and I'm glad I bought them. Maybe some professional mechanics have a better tool for this job. If so, let us know. Here is the cheapest source I could find for them today.

Well, the heads are thinner and smaller than a large Crecent, which is what most amateurs like me try to use and have trouble fitting in and turning in the tight space. You could use any open end wrench if you already have 27 and 32mm sizes. I didn't. The handles allow easy extension with pipe if needed. However, they are long enough that you can usually use a pinch-together maneuver to break these fittings free unless they are overtightened. The HF set is the same idea, but the wrenches are shorter with less leverage, still they would be useful in other areas where short wrenches are needed. It may seem I'm a little too enthusiastic over a simple wrench, but these just seem to work. The heads may be smaller that other common open ends of this span. I don't know.

FWIW, I've found a set of jumbo crowfoot wrenches (in addition to the more common smaller sizes, of course) to be extremely handy when dealing with hard-to-access situations. Two crowfoot wrenches plus two extensions often allow you to get to things that are pretty damn hard to do any other way. (Like the A/C plumbing connection that's next to and parallel to the receiver/drier; those are actually not "jumbo," though, IIRC).
I have no idea if they're appropriate for oil line fittings (haven't had to do that myself), but I have used them on some other 928 jobs where I wasn't sure what else might have worked.
The set I got is the "V8 Tools V87917". 1/2" drive 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 23mm, 24mm, 25mm, 26mm, 27mm, 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 35mm, 36mm, 38mm, 41mm, 42mm, and 46mm.
I got mine from S&J Discount Tools, but they're available from a number of sources. IIRC they're Chinese (which I usually avoid), but it's all I could obtain quickly when I needed them.

+1 on crowsfeet as useful addition to 928 tool collection.
Also work great for the PS line connections at back of the PS pump. There isn't room for a regular socket there.

I bought a set of jumbo Blackhawk Gear wrenches off ebay for $60 a few years back. I see they're now a little more than twice that, but still a good buy in mu opinion.

Nice set of spanners Bill, price is right to.....sure beats the big NAPA wrenches I got for the 30 and 32mm lines.

According to Toolsource's "International Information", not outside US and PR. And the HF alternative appears to be US only as well.
