This is on a 10.4:1 CR EuroS engine with low 7-8psi of boost. They will be on the track again this Memorial Weekend at Road America.
And his lap times are what ?? note the lap set by Loren Beggs in his 911 turbo was a 2:11.46..... H-class (think two liter 911) is 2:31.96

Mark doesn't even come close to a 2:11 in his car.......

You simply stated: "Until someone SUCCESSFULLY tracks or does DE events with a blown or supercharged 928......."
Which they have, for more than a few seasons now.

Mentioning DE events I didn't realize your criteria was looking for some kind of overall record

What makes their EuroS even more impressive is they share the car in two different classes. So during a two day DE event the car will go through eight sessions.

My dad has the new 997TT not the turbo S unfortunately, but it is so much fun to drive. I love my 928 but I would give it up in a second

I gotta side with Jim on this one....while I am not doubting the quality of anyones kit or product.....I doubt the strength of the 928's oiling issues with BOOST added to it....if crankcase pressure causes lots of problems...then boost can't help!!!

Just look at my "race 928 engine life thread"..... Its safe to say Jim has more time on track on his stock 82 engine than many other people....with minimal work too...just like the Estate......

I do think a supercharger is a cost effective way of increasing power for a street car...... but for my $$$ (what little there is) I like NA engines for their reliability!!! 46 hours and counting on a used 117k engine....not to bad for $$$ to time ratio!!!

Almost since PDK will have slightly faster shifts and has more gears to take advantage of. Just add some more power and traction and/or remove some weight and you will reach the goal. I mean come on, the coupe only has 500hp peak at the crank and weighs just over 3500lbs with PDK. A 500rwhp has almost a 100hp advantage with pretty much the same weight. Oh, and if we were to make it fair turbo - turbo comparison, John Kuhn's setup quite easily makes over 600rwhp; do you seriously think such a 928 would not blow the doors of a 500 crank HP 911? If a 500rwhp 928 on slicks is not getting 0-60 in under 4 seconds, one reason could be that those are not very good slicks...

Its not only about the horsepower but the torque. The 911TT or 911TTS put 516ft lbs torque starting at generate a permanently high torque of 516 lb.-.ft between 2,100 rpm and 4,250 rpm to deliver even more power to the road.
These cars are close to 500 ft lbs of torque at around 2000rpm that is alot of torque down that low so its not just about horespower to get those low et numbers.
The 911 Turbo models generate 500 hp at 6,000 rpm and 480 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,950 rpm and 5,000 rpm
http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/91...turesandspecs/
Pair of slicks on 928 after awhile would be buying axles and other drivetrain parts.
Even the new Corvette ZR1 is faster top end but 0-100 is about .8slower but with slicks would be different story. The all wheel drive pdk and low end torque is what makes the sub 3 second 0-60 numbers on the 911TT.With regular street tires in street trim the 911TT is hard to beat.I'd rather see numbers from the strip than off a G-TECH etc. When it comes to looks thou can't say I like the 911TT better, just like the power.928 today is still a good looking car compared to any Porsche out there.

Come on Dan, that's a whole lot of almost, should, would and could...that entire post needs traction. And we're talking 3 seconds not 4 0-60

Somebody show me a real number not generated on a Gtech and I'll drink a glass of kool-aid with ya.

I'd ask to drive the Turbo S 1st to see if its comfortable enough.Drove new Turbo car last year they are nice but alittle more stiff ride I thought compared to 928.Not sure how the ride is on the new Turbo S,best to try it out.A 2011 Turbo S black on black was at the local dealer here it lasted about a week and was sold.

Two ways... Drag radials, and launch control with aftermarket ECU like Autronic. Neither of which I have.

I will use my EVO X for bad weather and winter and use the 928 for summer. May look for "drag" radials
as needed.
Thanks for the advice. Mac
