I think the Turbo S with the PDK launch control is running in the vicinity of 2.7 0-60 times. It'll hit 100 in about 6.5 seconds and the quarter is done in a hair less than 11 seconds at something like 130mph.
Where are the proven sorts of figures that'll support a 928 doing anything close to that?

I dont care what anyone says here.
Yes a lot of the newer cars have fabulous numbers, but they are just that, numbers.
Without a good driver behind the wheel, a stock 928 could walk all over it on the track.
Plus trying to get the 0-60 times down to those numbers will be practically impossible. You are competing against an AWD car. However once your off the line, with enough power you could blow his doors off.

It's also important to keep things in perspective. There is no magic dust sprinkled on a new 911TT that somehow makes its performance unattainable by an older 928. Yes, it is much easier to attain good numbers with a PDK-equipped car, but a very good driver with a standard manual (or an automatic, see Tim's G-Tech results above) should be able to do almost the same. Almost since PDK will have slightly faster shifts and has more gears to take advantage of. Just add some more power and traction and/or remove some weight and you will reach the goal. I mean come on, the coupe only has 500hp peak at the crank and weighs just over 3500lbs with PDK. A 500rwhp has almost a 100hp advantage with pretty much the same weight. Oh, and if we were to make it fair turbo - turbo comparison, John Kuhn's setup quite easily makes over 600rwhp; do you seriously think such a 928 would not blow the doors of a 500 crank HP 911? If a 500rwhp 928 on slicks is not getting 0-60 in under 4 seconds, one reason could be that those are not very good slicks...

Until someone SUCCESSFULLY tracks or does DE events with a blown or supercharged 928 I stand by my prior comments and yes there is a LOT of magic dust being dusted about......

After the blower was installed 3-4 years ago, his first comment was how much fun it is hanging with and even passing GT3's on the front straight.
This is on a 10.4:1 CR EuroS engine with low 7-8psi of boost. They will be on the track again this Memorial Weekend at Road America.
