Thanks, all. I really appreciate the comments.
James,
Didn't realize there were so few that color. Glad to hear you like it, but I hope it doesn't mean I'm about to acquire seven more!
The carpets are dark blue but are relatively new and added by the ppo. Don't know what color they were originally but maybe I can find out. The dash is dark blue with a black cover over reported crack(s). I haven't had the courage to look underneath.
The ppi wizard insisted on one more mod to the car, so once it's installed I'll post a photo and the first one who identifies it gets a free beer.
Tom,
I was going to sequester her in the garage on Guemes Island for two months while the ferry was out, but decided to find a garage here in Seattle so that I can go to the May event. And drive it in the meantime, of course. Hope to see you there.
Catfood,
I looked at another one with the V8 logo, so they must have been an aftermarket item at some point. I'm not so fond of it; if someone needs to know what kind of juice it's carrying then I'm happy to tell them. Trades, anyone?
Bill

Thanks for posting Steve's thread... I had the laundry list but had not read the thread. I bought the car in July '05. It was nice to learn more about the wing as some people don't like it. Everything that was modified on the car had better function... we will miss it.

News this morning showed a pretty massive mudslide managed to undercut about half of thr pavement on a section of highway 1 south of Big Sur. Going north you were on the inland side so no risk. But that slide means that the highway will be closed again for a while. Glad you were able to enjoy the road there! When it isn't plugged with tourists in motorhome and mini-vans, it's a great drive. The sections north of San Francisco are less populated and more challenging, a perfect blend for a 928 escape.

Well, that would have been exciting! As it was, there were a couple sections of about 1/4 mile that were one way with the west lane gone. And lots of parts that had been recently repaired. It was a fun drive. I'm glad I stopped at Red Bluff for the night so that I was able to see the Mt Shasta section the next day in daylight.
On another tack, James commented that his car was all linen inside while mine is linen and dark blue. While going through the information that came with this car last night including all receipts from new ($89K), I discovered a color photocopy of a photo showing all linen carpeting, so Pappi changed the color from linen to blue when he replaced the carpets. Glad he did.

I will also make the May 1st get!

October is perhaps the best time of year for driving that section of the coast. For several years I hosted conferences/clinics at Pacific Grove that time of year, so we would have the least amount of fog and tourists.

Thanks, Laura
I see from the records that quite a bit of the work on the car was done at your shop. It's running great and a real hoot to drive. Of course, I have a long list of projects that I want (but not need!) to do, just to keep the tradition going. Sharktuning's right up there at the top.
So she'll be well taken care of here in the Great Northwest, I promise, and any homesickness should be cured by a trip to Sharktoberfest with her new NW buddies.
